UnHoly Vows

Jennifer is an author and the proprietor of Raven’s Cave, a beachside NewAge shop. She’s experienced a recent bitter divorce from her unfaithful husband, whom she has dubbed “The Monster”. Enter Shawn, her ex’s foster brother and a graduate student in biochemistry, on whom she’s got a crush. Jen is scarred from her ex’s infidelities and scared to make a move. Shawn has a complex about being a “geeky scientist”, but has been admiring Jen from afar. When it comes to light that Jen’s latest book is a hot erotic romance, Shawn is aroused and simply HAS to read it.

Shawn’s sister points out the obvious similarities between the main character of Jen’s book and Shawn himself, causing him to think that there may be a chance for him with Jen, especially if she is portraying him as a sexy, brooding hunk in her erotic novel.

UnHoly Vows was a wonderful read, entertaining and superbly written. I read the entire book in one sitting; at under 100 pages, it was an evening’s perfect read. I loved the “book within a book” idea; it was so creative! It takes a rare talent to write in two such polar opposite styles, and all within one work. The two stories are woven together very skillfully, with the erotic scenes in each one boiling over with passion and heat. I look forward to the next book by Therese MacFarland.
