Crazy for You

"Interesting advertisement", are the first words out of Bree Emery's mouth when she meets her new employer Sexton St. Croix, widely known as Sex. Considering the decorations and wording on his boxers she thought it was a very appropriate remark. As heir to the St. Croix Cruise Line, Sex grew up in the media spotlight so Bree knew all about his well earned nickname and didn't doubt his claim that the boxers were "a gift". Bree, however, is not on the one hundred year old Majestic to learn about Sexton St. Croix. She is on board the cruise liner at his request to find and rid the ship of the ghost of Daisy Alton, the flapper who in 1925 shot Sex's great-great uncle Randolph St. Croix before killing herself.

As Bree makes herself as comfortable as possible in the closet-sized cabin, the very same cabin in which Daisy traveled and that remains as it did the day of the shooting, she quickly discovers that while she and Sex share some serious chemistry they vehemently disagree as to what happened on that fateful day. As the cruise progresses Bree finds herself in a situation that is totally foreign to her, not only is she falling in love but she is being drawn into the events of the past to the extent that she has trouble returning to the present. Can Bree discover the truth and free Daisy or will she BECOME Daisy and suffer the same fate?

I was immediately intrigued by the plot of this book and I was not disappointed by it in ANY way. While the sexual sparks generated by Bree and Sex could power the ship, there is also a different kind of chemistry between them. They are both strong willed characters who stand by their beliefs, yet even when they disagree there is admiration and respect between them. There is a secondary romance that is every bit as sizzling as that between Sex and Bree and then there is an eighty-five year old romance that we also witness that is so sweet it almost brought tears to my eyes.

Combine all of the romance, a ghost who is NOT happy with Sex and more than a few mysteries that need to be unraveled and you have a book that should definitely be at the top of your "to buy" list when you head to the bookstores in April.
