Ellora’s Cavemen: Legendary Tails 1
The Changeling by Callista Arman
Obsession with the erotic romance, Highland Passion, and a stagnant marriage are what got Raye into trouble. When Raye visits her friend Maggie and makes a wish, she’s warned about being careful what you wish for. After Maggie leaves for her coffee break and leaves Raye alone, Raye finds a book on Changelings. Changelings are Faeries that take the shape of a loved one and are heralded by the laughter of the Fae. The next morning Raye wakes to the sound of tinkling laughter. She enters the bathroom to see her husband, but not her husband. Will she be happier, or will she want her husband back?
This was a great story about wishes and reality. Raye learned a fast lesson in appreciating what you have and not confusing fantasies with reality. If it’s too good to be true, it usually is. It was neat to read a story that featured a married couple dealing with the cooling off of a marriage. It was even better to read the ending of the story. Thanks to Ms. Arman for a wonderful beginning to this anthology.
Breaking the Rules by BJ McCall
For two years, Unit Leader Ri Anzer has been faced with temptation in the shape of unit member, Jac Dancer. Regulations state that there will be no fraternization, but Ri is close to breaking the rules. After the last mission, Ri decides to seduce Jac and succeeds beyond her dreams. A mission goes horribly wrong and Jac risks his life and his career to save Ri. Can they be together without being caught?
I enjoyed this foray into science fiction. Ri is a strong woman in a man’s job and pulls it off well. Jac is an alpha male who is able to be under a woman’s command yet manages not lose any his masculinity. Ms. McCall builds a believable future with amazing worlds. I look forward to more in this setting.
Abduction by Lynn LaFleur
Michaela and Jax are friends driving home from a party when a strange light engulfs the car. Seconds later they look at the clock and are astounded to see that they have lost seven hours. Not believing it and both a little scared, Michaela drops Jax off and continues home. Soon Michaela and Jax begin to have memories of having sex with each other, but that can’t be right, they’re just friends. What happened to them? What did they do in those seven hours?
Wow, what a hot story! This was great! I loved the idea of being abducted and exploring possibilities. The ending was a wonderful twist and made me laugh. Yet another great story by a fabulous author. Thanks Ms. LaFleur.
Dark-Pilot’s Bride by Cricket Starr
Being tied up as a virgin offering is not how Josia wanted to end her life, but in order to save her sister it is what she will do. Taking her sister’s place as the Dark-pilot’s bride is the only way to save her. Dreading the response of the Dark-pilot when he sees a sow tied up instead of a beautiful maiden Josia stands waiting. Dimitri lands and is warned by his computer that the Dark-pilots cannot afford another scene like the last time. Dimitri longs for a woman he can cherish and love to keep him company during the long hours in space. He keeps getting skinny women who are either afraid of him, or want revenge on their people for sacrificing them. When he sees Josia tied up and open for him, he can’t help himself and knows that he has found his Darkmate. Will Josia accept him?
What a great vampire story. I have never read a story quite like this. I am very impressed with the new twist that Ms. Starr has put in her story. The insecurities of the heroine and the hero were well done and did not diminish the characters as is sometimes done. I really hope to see more Dark-Pilot stories in the future.
A wonderful continuation of this anthology!
The Windsday Club by Charolette Boyett-Compo
While walking through the marketplace, Corydon and his men are stopped in their tracks by an amazingly beautiful woman. Eager to retire to their club for a day of debauchery, they think to proposition her and have her join them. When Corydon approaches her, her two guards detain him until Rosalyn lets him approach. Corydon asks how much, and Rosalyn mistakenly thinks that he is a man of pleasure and is asking how much she would pay for all six of them. Continuing to misunderstand, Corydon tells her that there is a Windsday two-for-one sale and she can afford them all. After an amazing afternoon, Corydon decides that the gods want him to marry her. After a week of searching, Rosalyn comes to him. Will she understand the deception and accept Corydon?
This was an amazing example of multi-partner sex and how it can be fun for all. The suspense of waiting to see if she would realize who he is and if she would accept him was great. I could not believe the ending! It made me laugh out loud! This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Boyett-Compo, I will be searching my e-bookshelf for more.
Manacles of Love by Elizabeth Lapthorne
When Ma’ra’s cousin, Elise, called her crying about how Paul had stolen all of her money and been thrown off the force for corruption, the only thing Ma’ra can do is, once again come to Elise’s rescue. Waiting until Paul is drunk, she kidnaps him at tazerpoint and takes him to her home. After shackling him to her bed, she leaves the room to try and compose herself. Paul remembers a conversation that he and Elise had had about Ma’ra’s passwords and releases himself from the voice-controlled manacles. Now is the time for him to fulfill a number of fantasies starring the merc, Ma’ra. Not knowing that Paul is actually undercover, Ma’ra still decides to let him have his way and to turn him in the next morning. She decides that she needs some fulfillment of her own.
This was a great closing story for this anthology. Not only did it have amazingly hot sex scenes, but it was also a strangely sweet story between two very strong people. I loved the variety of accessories and his reaction to her having them. The storyline was interesting and the characters were likable. Very well done Ms. Lapthorne.
All in all, Ellora’s Cavemen: Legendary Tails 1, was a fabulous read. I enjoyed each of the stories equally. I also enjoyed the fact that they seemed to be in order by steaminess. I will be hand-selling this book for some time!
