Lane’s Love Child

Kate was just an aromatherapist and masseuse who was raising her nephew when her life took a huge turn. Due to an article in a gossip rag, Kate’s ‘son’ is now rumored to be Lane Gerrard, famous rugby player’s love child. Lane demands to know why she would lie and tell the tabloid that Jaime is his son when he’s never seen her in his life. What follows is a roller-coaster ride of mistaken identity, stalkers, and jealous women. Can Lane and Kate have a relationship in the midst of all this chaos? Will it last?

Kate was a great female lead in this story, strong, capable, and willing to stand up for herself and her ‘son’. Lane struck me, at first, as a rather pompous man, but he developed into a caring man who wants only best for Jaime and Kate. The repartee between Kate and Lane was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the peek into New Zealand. The only books that I have read that take place in or around Oceania have been set in Outback Australia; this is the first that has been set in New Zealand. I think that Ms. Munro created a likeable cast of characters in an interesting setting. I look forward to reading more of her work.
