Sex World Book 1: Assassin

Paris Cordell has been given the opportunity of a lifetime; he has been elevated from obscurity to be trained as a sex engineer by the honored family of d’Akasha. Included in his sexual training is assassin training. For as in the days of old, sex engineers are able to move within the oligarchy without comment. Allowing them to fulfill contracts for more than sex or companionship. After scoring a record 210 on his final exam, Paris is given the extremely difficult job of going to Aerie to ascertain if Oswego, the ruler, has been killing his people for amusement and if it is necessary to kill him.

On arrival at Aerie, Paris meets Sumner, Oswego’s son, and finds a strangely torn man. Sumner hates what his father has been doing to the people under his care and tries to lessen the suffering as much as he can. At the same time, Sumner needs to keep up a façade of submission to his father so that Oswego will not suspect him of duplicity.

What follows is a maze of intrigue highlighted by romance. This was a great story that surprised me with it’s romantic aspects. I did not expect there to be as much romance between two men as there was. I usually am uncomfortable reading male on male sex scenes, but Ms. Austin did such a great job with the emotional side of the experience that I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to the rest of this series and hope that there will be many more.
