To Wed a Scandalous Spy

Willa Trent has accidentally hit a man with her slingshot. The man she knocked unconscious is Nathaniel Stonewell, Earl of Reardon. He is known as “Lord Treason” to all, but in reality he is part of the “Royal Four,” who are protectors of the crown. Willa spends the night with Nathaniel. Before you know it, Willa and Nathaniel are married and off to start their life together.

Willa is a splendid heroine. She is smart, funny, loyal and very talkative. Her infectious exuberance for life is contagious. She is a very charismatic character that this reader thoroughly enjoyed. Nathaniel is the perfect foil for her. He is a handsome and sexy hero with an edge of danger encircling him. Nathaniel finds himself falling for her and he tries his best to protect Willa from his dubious reputation. Nathaniel has given everything to his country, including his reputation. He is universally known as a “traitor” and has suffered for it. These are two very engaging characters who come alive for the reader. They rub together very well as they grow closer emotionally and physically. The sensuality level is just right for the story and in perfect keeping with the characters. Ms. Bradley introduces us to many secondary characters, including glimpses of the other members of the Royal Four.

To Wed a Scandalous Spy is a terrific beginning to this new series. Once again, Ms. Bradley has written an enticing tale filled with action. With a complex plot and endearing characters – it makes for a fast and furious read. This reader looks forward to the next book in this series.
