Once Bitten

A victim of experimentation by her father, Bali Itara has been altered with abilities of extraordinary healing powers and night vision. Daddy Dearest's ultimate goal is to create a whole race of superior beings using his blood line, but his alterations have left Bali with mutating genes that are slowly killing her. Domino D’rath, a night club owner from Tantalus, has been searching for a certain earth woman who saved him when he was a boy. When he finally finds Bali, he wants to repay his debt. But the payment she has asked for might be too great of a price to pay, because once bitten, they can never go back.

Once Bitten is a suspenseful, fast-paced futuristic romance. At less than 100 pages, the plot is filled with a variety of characters, surprises and action. The relationship between Bali and Domino is tender and sweet. Bali has never trusted any male due to her interactions with her father, while Domino has never taken his relationship with women seriously. They both feel the connection between them, but are pressured by time to make a decision. I really enjoyed the colorful secondary characters. They are not just in the background, but help to unravel this thrilling adventure. I also enjoyed the twists and turns that Ms. Dawn presents. I did not anticipate where the story would take me, but once I got there, I was in awe. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Dawn’s work. Thanks!
