Gina has been hiding from the world since dumping her cheating spouse. Being sucked into another world forced her to stop hiding. Derrin wants her to believe that she is the key to a mad wizard’s plan. She cannot believe that nor does she trust Derrin. But that does not stop her from lusting after him. The fact that he can enter her mind does not set well with her either. Gina is not prepared for what she feels for Derrin.

Derrin is trying to stop a madman. He will do whatever it takes to stop the madman’s plan his plan and save the innocent woman he has brought into their world. Gina is like no woman Derrin knows. She is unwilling to trust him, but is willing to join his fight against a madman. Derrin will protect Gina and help her return to her world.

Ariek and Danat have been playing a very dangerous game. Danat is married to a very powerful wizard and Ariek is a young, less powerful wizard. Danat cannot stop the love she feels for Ariek, although she knows he will soon tire of the challenge of bedding another man’s wife. Ariek never intended to have feelings for Danat, she was just to be a pleasant diversion. Now, both must face the love they feel and face what will happen when Danat’s husband finds out about them.

This was a very interesting yet confusing book at times. The story jumps from couple to couple with little distinction. I did enjoy how the author created four very individual people to be in two very different types of relationships. All four have been hurt in the past and this affects their ability to believe in and form relationships.
