Brian owns and runs the nursery that Claire decides to visit. Brian is used to women recoiling from his since being severely burned when he was a fireman. Claire cannot see the scars only the man behind the scars and cannot stop from falling in love with the real man. Brian sees the strong, sexy woman that Claire is and wonders if they could have more than friendship.

Ruby Storm’s Diamond in the Rough is an excellent story of love overcoming all. Claire and Brian are each hindered by things they think will prevent them from finding the love they want. As the two struggle to develop a relationship they are afraid to trust their feelings.
