The Pleasure Seekers 1: Dake

Because of the death of his wife a thousand years ago, Dake and the males of his village were cursed to become blood takers. Over the centuries, they’ve learned to live alone taking their pleasure when and where they can find it. Dake has given up searching for his true mate, only hunting those who can provide him with sex and blood.

Charron is a woman in pain. Her life has been devastated by a terrible loss and she only wants death, to soothe her suffering. She is grateful when Dake comes for her, but his lovemaking changes her. Can she convince him to allow her to live and share his life?

Michele Bardsley’s The Pleasure Seekers 1: Dake is a great start to what could be a wonderful series. This short story was in-depth enough to explain the background of the Pleasure Seekers but left enough mystery to sustain further books in the series. Charron and Dake were characters that you could enjoy. Charron was a strong woman, who had given up on life. Their journey to find each other was an interesting one, intertwined with some pretty sizzling sex. In addition, there was a bit of humor in the scene where the blood takers were made…but you’ll have to read The Pleasure Seekers 1: Dake in order to find it! I look forward to more in this fascinating series.
