Arianna Hart Interview

Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews Arianna.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Sure! I'm my favorite subject, hahahaha. Well I live in Connecticut with my husband and three daughters, ages 6, 5, and 2 and two psychotic pets, a cat Max and a dog Cheyenne. I teach high school part-time, kickboxing part-time, was a former EMT/Firefighter and emergency dispatcher, and I earned my black belt in karate a year ago. I love to go to the beach, visit with my friends, and read anything I can get my hands on. And I guess that's it, pretty boring, huh?

2. Any chance that we get to see more of Talia and Finn from Dark Heat?
Oh, I just loved them! Probably not, they are living their happily ever after, but you never know what could happen next! I have so many ideas floating around that some day they may come back.

3.What are you currently working on?
Right now I'm working on a novella for a space pirate anthology for Ellora's Cave. I also have some other ideas in the back of my head for a shape shifter story taking place in New York of the future with an empath psychologist and a werewolf cop. We'll see where that goes, hahahaha

4. Do you have a favorite/least favorite genre you like writing in?
So far I really love writing romantic suspense whether it's para or contemporary, and I love, love, love writing futuristics and erotica. It's hard to pick one favorite because they all feed me in different ways. I need to be able to jump around between the genres or I get bored, and if I'm bored, the reader will be too! I love to read Historicals, but I don't think I could write one to save my life.

5. How do you feel about trilogies and is there any chance of you doing one?
Funny you should mention that. . . I'm kicking around an idea for a trilogy based on my Ellora's Cave release REBEL'S LUST that would have some of the same characters, but on a different world.

6. What is the best part of writing for you?
I just love it when something I write hits home with someone. Writing is a very personal experience, and when someone goes "That scene made me cry/laugh/remember. . ." I get a great deal of satisfaction from it. All I ever wanted from writing was a chance to have people read my words, I'm lucky enough to have publishers that took a chance on me and put my words out there for folks to read.

7. Sometimes when I sit down to write something (like this interview) I lose train of thought because I have a million thoughts and questions running around my head. So I guess my question is . . . does this happen to you and if so how do you deal with it?
A better question would be when doesn't it happen to me? Hahahaha. Just during this interview I've had to break up ten fights, put the baby in the tub, clean up a moldy banana that had been hidden in the play room, and answer the phone about 10 times. I usually try to go back and re-read what I just wrote and find the mood again. Having children that aren't in school means I get interrupted a lot, if I couldn't find that thread of an idea again after every interruption I'd be in big trouble!

8. Are any of your characters based on people you know?
Not on actual people, but on parts of them. I take this one's eyes and that one's hair, and the other one's sarcasm and make up a character. Kind of like paper dolls, hahaha. Most of my heroines end up with my sense of humor at some point, it just sort of slips in.

9. Is there something you wanted to accomplish but didn't yet?
Oh tons! I had started going for my PhD shortly before I got pregnant with my first, and I pretty much gave up that goal for any length of time. I'd like to ride in a hot air balloon, be on the New York Bestsellers list, win an award (any award, hahahaha), write a mainstream novel, have a clean house for more than an hour, lose 20 pounds, and the list goes on and on, hahahaha.

10. Is there anything you would like to add?
Sure! Thanks so much for taking the time to interview me. I love getting to know new readers, even if they've never read me before, ahhaha. If anyone is interested, I have a yahoo group that you can sign up on at my website, we're a quiet bunch, but it's a fun way to chit chat and find out what's going on. Thanks again!

Arianna, thank you for being here with me today. I really enjoyed my time with you.
Thanks! Me too.
