Fallen Angel Reviews would like to welcome Cameron Hale! Welcome Cameron and thanks for taking the time to talk with us. Would you please tell us a little about yourself? I like to think of imaginative people as somewhat eccentric. I'm an avid animal lover surrounded by feather, fin and furchildren. Running a business and writing allow me to be my own boss without having to worry about what to wear or if I'm stuck in traffic. To do something you enjoy is a great gift in this world - but for many, it's a struggle to achieve that goal. I traveled and saw some of the world, which gives you an important perspective on things. I'm a voracious reader and love to swim. My goal is to get a nice piece of land where I can write surrounded by animals and the sounds of nature.Did you always know you wanted to be a writer? And how long have you been doing this? I started shocking my teachers by writing graphic horror stories at the age of 7. I still have those faded, yellow lined sheets complete with crude illustrations. As with many creative endeavors, however, you have to fight the "starving actor" syndrome that people often try to feed you when they think you're pursuing a hopeless dream. The world would be a dull place indeed if all we ever pursued was a "real job."How did it feel when your first book was published? Immensely satisfied. My goal was then to get on with the next book. Writing is a like a drug, you need that fix.Your newest release, Sci-rotica 2 will be available soon from eXtasy books. Would you tell us a little about this book? Sci-rotica 2 is essentially a continuing journey into a darkly erotic universe showcasing new stories and some interestingly perverse characters.Where do you get the ideas for you characters and your stories? They emerge from my mind in the most amazing ways. I can be doing a completely mundane chore like loading the dishwasher and an idea will suddenly pop into my head. I can look at an object or a word and an image appears in my mind. I suppose it's the same with any creative person - the muse sings and she's going to make herself heard. What can we expect in the future? Are you working on anything right now? Check out my imminent release - Tomorrow's Dawn. A collaborative erotic science fiction novel, this is the first book of the Aislinn Series. For those who like epic adventures that involve Earth and worlds beyond, they won't be disappointed. Is there any one person who has influenced your writing? My gratitude to my 7th and 8th grade English teacher, Mr Hurley, for being one of the few who recognized my talent. We're not all meant to be office workers …What do you find most rewarding about being a writer? To be able to create something from nothing, to populate a world from your own mind.Where do you see your career five years from now? As an assembly line for the imagination, I just want to continue producing books. When you are not writing, what do you like to do in your spare time? Spare time? Surely that is another element of science fiction? I run a business in addition to writing - suffice it to say the laundry gets done when I've run out of underwear. What type of stories do you enjoy reading and could you tell us who your favorite author is? The Preston/Child Novels rank among my favorite, Nancy A Collins, Gregory Benford and a host of other sci fi authors. Bentley Little is a favorite in the horror genre. Is there anything else you would like to add to this interview? Tap the gift - creativity is the lifeblood of humanity.Thank you, Cameron, for taking the time to answer our questions.
