Sascha Illyvich Interview
Hi, Sascha, welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews. I want to thank you for being here with me today. Sit back, relax and lets have some fun.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm an erotic author fixing to relocate to California to expand my career in culinary arts and wine related stuff. I'm married to a wonderful pastry chef who thinks I'm father material!
Do you have an inspiration and if so who or what?
I really don't have any inspiration at the moment. I guess I wanted to be like the romance and erotica writers I've read, like Janelle Denison, Lori Foster, Emma Holly, but there wasn't one single inspiration that pushed me to write. To exist is a different story.
What message would you like your readers to get from your books?
Play hard, love hard. I don't really have a message to get across in my normal fiction, my BDSM stuff stresses the importance of knowing who you are, and taking time to rest, though.
What is the greatest part of writing for you?
The fact that I get to sit on my ass all day and drink red wine and eat chocolate? (GGG!) The realization of my characters coming to life right before my readers' eyes and letting them know that reality is full of possibility.
For a first time reader of your books what book would you recommend they start with and why?
It depends.
For Fetish/BDSM folks, Mistress Kitty and Trent: Tales of Love and Romantic BDSM, which is about to be retitled, revised and expanded for print. The characters aren't typical BDSM players who do the same tired old things.
For Contemporary Romance readers, A Christmas Favor which was a CAPA finalist, reviewed by FAR twice! The story is hot, exciting and was so very fun to write.
Do one of your characters stick out above the others, if yes who?
It's a toss up between Angela from A Christmas Favor because she was based off a very unique friend of mine, or Mistress Kitty from Mistress Kitty and Trent for the simple reason that she is every woman for the one man who is everything to her, which reminds me of my loved ones.
Do you have any hobbies and if so what?
I'm an avid wine connoisseur, cigar aficionado, bass guitarist and of course a reader!
I know you have some books coming out can you tell us a little bit about them?
I am working on another erotic short story collection to combine with Sensualities for print from Renaissance E-books. The stories will vary more in the second collection and for print, be mixed in to change up things for Sensualities. I have a homoerotic collection in the works also for Renaissance E-books, and then I'm working on numerous short stories for various print anthologies.
What are you currently working on?
Guess I jumped the gun, right? (snicker) All of my big projects except one have been put on hold until I move to California and am able to do more research and sit with my personal editor. There is my Harlequin BLAZE submission Lisa's Sway that has been finished and I'm currently struggling with the synopsis and query letter for that. Brenna Lyons, Stephanie Burke and I are involved in a Sensual erotic fairy anthology.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Yeah. I'm on the way to becoming rehabilitated off the crack jokes. I've found a new vice.
Sascha thank you so much for allowing me this time. I had a lot of fun.
