Hello Rachel! Thanks for allowing Fallen Angel Reviews to interview you.

When did you start writing?

I started writing when I was sixteen which was 20 years ago now.

What year were you first published?

January 2002

Do you write under any other names/pseudonyms?

I began writing under the name of Rachel Carrington just this year before my name change. My name was originally Dawn Whitmire. Now, it's officially been changed to Dawn Rachel Carrington.

What does your family/friends think of your books?

Of course, they love them. What else could they say? :)

Where do you get your story ideas?

I've always had a very active imagination. My story ideas can come from a lyric in a song or something someone says. I can build an entire story line around a simple comment. It's one of the benefits of having such a vivid imagination.

Do you write on a schedule or as inspiration hits?

I usually try to write on a schedule through the week. Tuesday-Friday, I write from 8:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. Mondays are for marketing and promotions only and Saturdays and Sundays, I write whenever inspiration hits, but I do write. as long as I can write at least 2,000 words per day, I'm happy.

Which book was the hardest to write?

Without a doubt, Indigo Spell. As the first in my wizard series, it set the stage for the sequels and I had to make sure Mystique (the wizards' city), the wizards' abilities and the ramifications of marrying a mortal were all properly explained.

If you could be one of your heroines for a day -who would you choose?

Hmmm, I'd have to say Danni. She's the heroine in Timeless Spell, the sequel to Indigo Spell. She's spunky and has been through hell. Life rewarded her with a wizard for her very own.

Indigo Spell contains an entire family of wizards- whose story must be told next?

Falcon's story is told next followed by Rane's (Jaxon's brother) and then Braeden's (another brother).

Who is your favorite author?

Christine Feehan

What is your favorite thing to do when not writing?

Watching movies.

Do you have a secret passion/indulgence?

This would have to be shoes and clothes. I'm a shoe hog and a clothes horse. I must have at least twelve pairs of black shoes because you can never have enough black along with eighty pairs of other types of shoes. I collect them. :) As far as clothes go, well, I like to hit the sales at department stores and when I do, I buy in quantity and quality.

When is your next release?

August 1, 2004 is for Timeless Spell and then the next one will more than likely be a Halloween release for Hell Hath No Fury. What should we expect in the future?

More paranormal and fantasy romances. I'm working on several stories about Celtic gods and goddesses along with a shorter version of a wizard story. I don't think I'll be ready to release the wizards any time soon.
