Bella Beaudoin Interview

Hi Bella! Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us.

In your new book, Erotic Fantasies II ~ Pump Up The Heat!, you have included a longer story. Is there any reason you choose to add a extra special story in the midst of sizzling short stories?
The main reason I did this was because I received so many requests for a longer and more in depth story from readers and fans of my first book. Since the whole purpose of writing is to please the reader, it seemed like a good idea to at least give it a shot!

Per your website, you are currently working on Outdoor Adventures in Erotica. Was there any special reason you are placing all the short stories in the outdoors?
Actually, I love the concept of having fun in the great outdoors. Sometimes, I think it may have such appeal simply because it is still considered so risque’ to the average couple.

Can we get a teaser for what you are working on right now? (grin)
Of course… Here is a small part of one of the stories in Outdoor Adventures In Erotica:

ROCK THE BOAT

Nikolaus didn't always start his day off in a horny mood, but, seeing Cassandra sitting on the dock in the glow of the sunshine, wearing those tight white bottoms, and showing a generous amount of impressive cleavage certainly contributed. It had been her idea that they go out sailing today, in celebration of their anniversary, and Nikolaus had been more than happy to comply and steal her away from the world so they could be completely alone together. He watched her from under his downcast eyelashes and felt the heat growing in him as her supple body moved, exciting the very depths of his soul.

When she looked up at him, her gaze was automatically drawn to the more than prominent bulge in his khaki bottom, and she gave him a sly, sexy smile. Looked like she was going to have TWO masts to contend with once they got the sailboat under way. Oh, well, Cassandra was looking forward to this day before, and now, judging by the stretched material of Nikolaus's shorts, it looked even more promising. She planned on getting the most she could out of this anniversary.

Nikolaus found it rather uncomfortable, trying to get everything done that needed to be done, while having to continually adjust the front of his shorts, so he decided that once they were out of the immediate harbor, he was going to take advantage of this situation, and show Cassandra that her appearance had managed to raise more than just the mainsail. He smiled to himself, imagining the shock on Cassandra's face. She was so shy and reserved. She had never even kissed him in front of other people, so Nikolaus fully expected her to be a little embarrassed and pull away, promising him a night of ecstasy when they returned to shore.

After finally reaching open water, Nikolaus tied off the wheel, and quietly went in search of Cassandra, whom he found bending over the lunch box she had packed for the day trip. Her beautifully shaped ass teased his already over active libido until he couldn't keep his eyes, or his hands, to himself a minute longer. (to be continued in the book)

What inspired you to write short stories?
I actually started out thinking about writing just longer stories, like in Harlequin Romances only more steamy and graphic, but then I started listening to the women in my life and they all seemed to think short stories would be better. The reasoning? Consensus was that to enjoy a short story as an appetizer to the “real meal” with your significant other was far better than to spend the night curled up with a long book by yourself because you have to know what happens to the heroine before you stop turning the pages.

You have a family and a career, how do you balance the demands of family with writing?
This one is easy. I don’t. I love writing, and I would hate to give it up, but life is a matter of priorities, and my priority is my family. My kids come first, and when they are happy, healthy, and well-adjusted, then I can take time to relax, research, and write. Sometimes it means doing my writing in the wee hours, but knowing my kids know mommy is theirs first, and sharing the important times in their life, is the most important thing in my life.

How do you like to spend your time when you are not writing?
There are several things I love doing, the first being spending time with my family. A close second would be reading, especially Dean Koontz books. And then there is, of course, writing and drawing, both of which I have been doing since pre-teen years.

Do your outside interests contribute to your writing?
I admit that I do tend to put my own hobbies, desires, past times, and fantasies into a lot of my writing. They say to write well you should write what you know and love, and I whole heartedly agree with that!

How do you keep your ideas fresh and imaginative?
Mostly, I do this by doing a lot of research. I talk to people from 18-80, male and female. I find out what they have done in their lives, what they fantasize about doing, and what they wish they had done when they had a chance but were too afraid to try at the time. This also lends some realism to my stories because they are real stories that come from real, everyday people.

Do you have a favorite character from one of your short stories that you might be interested in revisiting for a follow-up story?
Actually, I love the character of Paul, who is the detective in my longer story at the end of Pump Up The Heat. He has fantasies, yes, and he dreams, and he has plenty of opportunity, but in the end, he knows the only woman he truly wants is his wife.

Per your website, you enjoy reading; do you have a particular author or style of book that you enjoy?
My favorites are mysteries and horror. I used to be a die hard Stephen King fan, although I was always disappointed at his lack of real endings, then I discovered Dean Koontz, and poor King got thrown in a yard sale pile.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I would like to say this… never let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do. If you love writing, write. Love reading, read. Your life is yours and there is nothing sadder than looking back and thinking “if only…” or “ I wish I had…”
