Barri Bryan Interview

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us at FAR- Fallen Angel Reviews. We know a few things about you such as your web site: www.barribryan.atfreeweb.com but we are all curious to know more. So by answering these questions you can help us get to know you.

What is the one thing that you would want us, the readers to know about you?
Billie: I’d like them to know that I too am an avid reader of romances. I can lose myself in a romantic tale.

Herb: I’d like them to know that I am a gregarious person. I love people and enjoy being with my family and friends as well as meeting new people and making new friends.

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment in life?
Herb: I pride myself on being a good father and good husband. Success in those two roles is a great accomplishment for anyone.

Billie: As grandmothers go I’m probably one of the best. I love spending time with my grandchildren and I love spoiling them.

Of all your books which one would you say holds the most meaning for you and why?
Herb: I think I’d have to pick RETURN TO PARADISE. It’s the story of starting over and learning to trust again. I learned from the characters as we wrote the book.

Billie: The book that holds the most meaning for me is HONKY TONK COWBOY. It was also the most difficult for us to write. The heroine in the story is an ex-convict and the hero an embittered, disillusioned rodeo cowboy. Not easy characters to cast in the molds of hero and heroine.

If you were going to visit any place in the world to research a book where would it be?
Billie: I’d go to Greece. The place has always fascinated me. I’m sure just being there would inspire me.

Herb: I think I’d choose Scotland. My ancestors came from there.

Is it hard working together as a husband and wife team writing romance?
Herb: Sometimes it is. We don’t often disagree but when we do, it can get intense.

Billie: We seldom disagree over anything major. Our arguments are usually about trivial things such as Herb deleting my strategically placed adverb.

Which one of you would you say is the most romantic?
Billie: I have to admit, Herb is.

Herb: I have to agree. Billie is slightly less romantic and a little more practical than I.

What do you write besides romances?
Herb: I write how to articles about restoring old furniture and making home repairs.

Billie: I write poetry.

How many books together and what are they?
Billie: We have six Contemporaries. They are: A TENDER LIE, RETURN TO PARADISE, HONKY TONK COWBOY, A WORLD APART, YOU BELONG TO ME and KISS ME I’M IRISH. We have two paranormal romances, ANOTHER TIME, ANOTHER PLACE and TO SEDUCE A DEMON.

Herb: We have two novels set in decades of the 20th century. A LONG SHADOW is set in the 1950s and LUCKY is set in the 1920s. We have three historical romances: SPEAK MY LOVE, CANAAN and HOSTAGE which is a part of an anthology titled CAPTURED. We have one erotic fantasy. It’s titled THE PRINCE WITH A HOLE IN HIS HEART.

Billie: We also have three books of poetry: BRUSH COUNTRY, CHAPTER AND VERSE and TRACES OF LOVE which is an anthology.

Do you have any new books that are coming out and can you tell us about them?
Herb: We have two contemporary romances that are due to be published in 2006. One is titled FOR JENNY’S SAKE the other is LOVE WILL FIND A WAY.

Billie: We also have a book of poetry due to be published in 2006. It’s titled WHAT WILL SUFFICE. And we have a contemporary romance titled WHERE THE HEART IS that will be published in an anthology in 2006.

Herb: In November of 2005 we have a romance set in the 1940s scheduled to be published. It titled ALWAYS IN MY HEART.

What do you do in you spare time?
Billie: I read, of course and I knit and crochet. I take walks and spend time with my family.

Herb: I garden, restore old furniture and cook. I too, enjoy spending time with my family.

Of all the things you have done in life which holds the biggest place in your heart and why?
Herb: Marrying my wife holds the biggest place in my heart.

Billie: It’s the same for me. Finding and marrying Herb holds first place in my heart.

I loved Kiss Me I’m Irish; do you plan on writing the step children’s stories?
Billie: We hadn’t thought about it, until now.

Herb: But it sounds like a very good idea.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions that we have for you. Take care as it was a pleasure reading your books. I for one am looking forward to hearing all news.
Herb: Thank you for having us as your guests.

Billie: We enjoyed our visit with you.
