Tonya Ramagos Interview

Hello Tonya. Fallen Angel would like to welcome you and thank you for taking time in your busy schedule to let us ask you a few questions.

First, can you give us a little background information about yourself?

I’m a mother of two wonderful boys, a bookworm, computer nerd and party girl. (G) I love everything from heavy metal music and concerts, to curling on the sofa with a good book, to spending quality playtime with my boys. Oh, and AOL’s Pogo games. They are sooo bad for you. Way too addictive. LOL

How long have you been writing?

I don’t really remember what age I actually started writing. I know it was young, like early junior high age. My first book, a YA novel, was published in 1999. That was the kickoff of my writing career.

How many books do you have in release?

6 Young Adult, 5 Mysteries, 4 Romances, and 1 Erotica

You write a variety of genres. What are they and do you have a favorite?

Young Adult romances, mysteries, traditional romances and erotica. I enjoy writing each of them but if I had to choose I would say the romances, both traditional and erotica.

Is there a genre you have not tried, but would love to if given a chance?

Paranormal. Eventually I’m going to write a paranormal novel. I’m just waiting for the right idea/story line to come to mind.

Which genre is the most difficult to write?

They all offer their own challenges but the mysteries are probably the most difficult. Keeping the suspense going without giving away the outcome too soon is always a big challenge.

What do your family and friends think about your books?

They are very supportive and love to brag to others.

Can you describe your current release Voices and Lies, and what inspired the story?

Voices and Lies is the story of Alicia Addison and vocalist and heavy metal heartthrob Derek Kadin. Alicia is watching over her sister's B & B when a late arrival guest who is registered as Mr. Smith turns out to be none other than Derek Kadin. He has registered under an assumed name in hopes of solitude and anonymity and Alicia is afraid if she reveals that she knows his true identity he will leave. After all, how often does the man of a woman's every dream come knocking on the door? He's only there for a two week stay. After that, Alicia is certain she will never be this close to him again. She would be stupid to let an opportunity like this slip through her fingers. But when Derek turns up the heat, Alicia finds herself in a position she never thought she would be.

The story was actually inspired by David Draiman, the vocalist for the heavy metal band Disturbed. I’ve had a few opportunities to talk with him and he’s really an amazing man. Not to mention very good-looking. :)

Describe your proudest writing moment. (first sale ,first award etc)

Believe it or not, the acceptance for Voices and Lies was probably my proudest moment to date. Though I’ve written and published many books before this one, Voices and Lies is my favorite and I think my best work to date. I was really excited about seeing it published and have been more than thrilled to know that those who I know have read the book thus far enjoyed it as much I do.

What were some of your influences?

Growing up, Francine Pascal’s Sweet Valley High series was a huge influence for me. My family has also always been a big influence with their support and encouragement. Now that I’m older, authors such as Suzanne Brockmann, Linda Howard and of course Nora Roberts are great inspiration.

Can you tell us about some of your upcoming books?

The next book up is Picking Art. This will be the second book to the Heavy Metal Seduction Series following Voices and Lies. Garrett Henry is accustomed to people looking at him, recognizing him as the guitarist for the heavy metal band Façade. But when he catches a cute little blond stealing glances at him from across the bar, his curiosity takes hold. One look down her petite curvy body and he knows she’s way out of his league. Still, he finds himself drawn to her like a magnet.

For twenty-five years, Suzanne Cassidy has saved herself. Not necessarily for marriage but for the right man. When she meets Garrett Henry she knows he isn’t the sort of man she usually finds attractive but he has an innate beauty that she can’t ignore. As they grow closer she finds the feeling she’s been longing for and knows she will give this man her most prized possession…her virginity. But Garrett is a heavy metal star and a man with whom forever is not an option. Suzanne longs for marriage, a family and she’s certain Garrett isn’t the man who can give her that. He will never be willing to leave the life of a heavy metal star for the down-home family life. Or will he? Is he the man who can give Suzanne her hearts desire?
