Born the youngest of four children,
Mary Eason used her active imagination to keep herself entertained while growing up in a small Texas town. Though she didn’t start seriously writing until later in life, she actually began honing her creative skills by writing stories during her teenage years. Admittedly,
Mary says that story will never see the light of day, but her current release
EVERLASTING LOVE, has captivated readers and reviewers alike. And we look forward to seeing what this up and coming author has planned for us in the future.
Hi
Mary, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us at Fallen Angels!
Can you tell us about your current release from Triskelion Publishing,
EVERLASTING LOVE?
Yes, thank you, Kathi. I’d be happy to. EVERLASTING LOVE is a love story that transcends time and death to reunite two lovers from the past. One is the dark immortal, Viktor Brincoveanu and the other a young woman from his past, Jessie Seville who has been reborn once again to find him and at last find the happiness that was denied to her in another lifetime. I wrote EVERLASTING LOVE with the old classic vampire movies in mind. I loved the dark emotions that surrounded those movies.
You’ve received terrific reviews for
EVERLASTING LOVE. How nerve-wracking was it for you to have your first book reviewed?
Very. And of course, the first is always a learning process. You don’t really know what to expect. I was so lucky that EVERLASTING LOVE was well received by its reviewers.
How did you celebrate your first release?
My husband and I went out for a very special dinner. Oh, and I think I told everyone that I know about the book.
Your next novel is
TEN THOUSAND ANGELS, an Inspirational Romance from By Grace Publishing. Can you tell us a bit about this story?
Talk about going from one end of the spectrum to the other. TEN THOUSAND ANGELS is definitely a switch in genres from paranormal to inspirational. To me, this book is all about second chances. TEN THOUSAND ANGELS deals with two people who have been hurt very deeply by people they have loved. Kate Alexander finds herself alone and pregnant with no one to turn to except a man who is fighting demons of his own. Matt Stevens is genius when it comes to creating the best security software programs around, but his personal life is a wreck. Three year ago, he walked away from life and all the things that mattered to him after his son’s death. Together, Matt and Kate learn to both trust and to love again.
Do you have the full story mapped out before you start a book or does it come together as you write?
Good question. Yes, I usually have the story idea mapped out in my head. But as most writers will tell you, when you put it down on paper, it never quite goes as planned. My characters have a way of taking over and sometimes going to places that I least expect.
Tell us your happiest moment.
Becoming a Christian. There is no greater moment for me. The second would be the moment I met my husband. I just knew. We’ve been together ever since. More than twenty years now.
You are the youngest of four children. What is the best and the worst thing about being the baby of the family?
I would probably answer both questions with the same answer. I know, that sounds strange, but as the youngest child, I found myself with plenty of time alone, (that was the worst part). I started creating stories in my head at an early age, (that’s the best part).
In your opinion, what is the best movie ever made?
Oh, by far I would have to say Casablanca. I’ve loved that movie since the moment I first saw it. I couldn’t have been more than seven at the time. I still consider Casablanca my all time favorite movie, even though I’ve seen it dozens of times over the years. It’s the romance that I can only hope to write some day.
If you could go back in time to witness a historical event, what would it be?
I would love to be there when Jesus walked the earth. Can you imagine?
If you had to eat one thing the rest of your life, what would it be?
Oreo peanut butter and crème cookies. Oh, and Starbucks coffee. I’m addicted to both.
If they were to make a movie from your life, would it be a drama, comedy, romance, etc? Who would play the leading part?
Definitely a comedy. I feel that I’ve stumbled into some of the most amazing moments in my life. Gosh, who could play me? Well she’d have to be a little in the confused, every so sweetly shy and slightly scattered at times. Are there any actresses that fit that bill? Sandra Bullock? (Sorry Sandra, I hope you’re not insulted by that).
Describe a typical day in the life of
Mary Eason.
Unfortunately, I’m an early riser. I usually get up around five-thirty or six where I stumble into the kitchen to make coffee. Cannot survive without coffee. After I’m functioning properly thanks to the Starbucks, I check email and return messages. Then its on to writing. I write on an average of four to five hours a day.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
I would have to say Christmas. There’s just so much hope and promise around Christmas time. I feel as if anything can happen around that time.
What can we expect to see from you in the future?
I have so much in the works right now, with both e-publishers as well as the traditional publishing houses. Plus I will be starting up some new contests very soon on my website. So, stay tuned and check back with me at my website from time to time to see what’s happening.
Is there anything you would like to add before we go?
I would just like to thank my readers for supporting me. Without them, I would be nothing. And of course, my publishers. They have been wonderful to me. And thank you Kathi and Fallen Angels for this opportunity to promote my work.
Mary, thank you again for talking with us. Best of luck with all your upcoming novels!
