Marissa de A'Mor Interview

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us at FAR- Fallen Angel Reviews. We know a few things about you such as your web site: www.marissadeamor.us. but we are all curious to know more. So by answering these questions you can help us get to know you.

What is the one thing that you would want us, the readers to know about you?
Wow, just one thing... LOL. I guess that I am just a regular crazy person like everyone else. I love to write and am thrilled to death that my dream of being published is finally realized.

Besides being a writer you are involved with other aspects of the publishing world, what are they?
Funny you should mention that. I also happen to be the Review Coordinator, Author Liaison and HR Manager for Silk's Vault Publishing.

What groups do you have that we could join as far as yahoo groups besides Marissas_Erotic_News to find out more about your books.
Right now that's the only group I have other than my website. OH, wait, I have a blog too. www.marissadeamor.blogspot.com .

What made you become a writer, and why?
My ninth grade English teacher. Don't laugh, I'm serious. She taught us that we should write what we know and how we speak, the rest is just creativity. I took those words to heart and learned to love writing. It was, and is, my passion.

Where do you get all these ideas for your books?
Other than the fact I have a warped mind... LOL. They just come to me I guess. As much as I would love to say I have a little voice in my head, that isn't exactly the case.

What would you say holds the most meaning for you?
These questions keep getting tougher. Hmm, the only think that holds meaning in my life is my son. He is my reason for living, and though my writing is important to me, my baby boy is my life line.

What can we expect from someone as talented as you in the next few years?
You're swelling my head again with your flattery. I have several contracts and projects in the works. My Black Widow series with Silk's Vault is a five book series, I am almost finished with book 2. I am one of four authors in volume one of The Red Silk Diaries with After Hour Cocktails. I am planning a vampire novella for early next year. Then I have my crime romance novel, Hidden Deception, and half the sequel is already complete on that as well. Umm, I have a detective novel series. Book one is complete and being published with Silk as well, it's called Accidents Happen. Wow, this is a lot already, but I'm not finished. I have a short coming out with Venus Press called Special Delivery, it has a tentative release date in December. And I am one of the authors in a Valentine's anthology for Venus, as well as a summer anthology and the June book for Bad Girls Do It Better. WHEW!! When I write it out like th! at it seems like way too much to handle. I sure hope I can do a good job of all of these.

Where do you see yourself and what are you goals?
I wanna be famous damn it... LOL. I hope to be doing well enough with my passion in writing to be able to do this full time. That is my goal, always has been.

On your web site http://www.marissadeamor.us you have a list of books that are coming soon or should we say future projects listed from A to Z, can you tell us about them?
That is my beloved detective series. It kind of goes along with the alphabet, only because I didn't want to number them. I don't know if they will all be full novels, but that is my hope for them. The main character, Martina Rosquete, is pretty much me if I was a badass... LOL. Her personality and sarcasm are all mine, but her name is my late grandmother's. I wanted to keep her with me somehow, so I made her a cool character in my books. She was always awesome to me so why not immortalize her in writing. Some of the other characters have traits from my family as well. Marti's mother is a bit like my mom, and her baby sister is a bit like mine too. This series is very close to my heart in many ways and I hope it is well received.

How fast can you write these wonderful books that keep us spell bound?
It all depends on the length and the topic. Anything crime or mystery or suspense related pretty much rolls out of me. I wrote Accidents Happen in six months and it's considered an epic novel by Silk's Vault standards (it's about 97,000 words). Black Widow 2 is giving me a bit of a run for my money, but that may be my fault too... LOL. I have to get myself in front of my laptop and just finish it. I would say a novella can take me about a month or month and a half. A novel could take about six months or more. It all depends on my laziness and my muse (he can be testy sometimes).

If you have just one thing in life what would it be?
Wow, I don't even know how to answer that... LOL

Where is your spare time for hobbies? What are your hobbies?
Spare time?

I don't think I know what that means... LOL.

What is your favorite thing to do every day?
Other than chat with all my new friends? LOL. I like to relax in front of the TV and watch all my shows. Each day has its own show or shows.

With all those great books and even better reviews that are out, what do you have coming out soon? I understand that you have many books coming out. Can you tell us about them?
Coming out soon... Hmm... I have the Red Silk Diaries Volume 1 releasing October 22nd. This was one of the most fun pieces to write. It is a collection of (literally) diary entries by myself and three other authors. Are they "real" experiences? You never know ;) Then I have Accidents Happen and Black Widow 2 for tentative release in November, and Hidden Deception for tentative release in December. Keep an eye out.

Tempt us, just a little tease, please of some of those books coming out soon?
Hmm... How about a little "unedited" excerpt from my diary, After Hour Cocktails?

UNEDITED EXCERPT:

March 16, 2005

Ok, I’ve determined that I can’t remember to write in this thing everyday, so I’ll just fill in the blanks as I can. I have too much on my mind to keep writing in this journal on a daily basis. Yeah, I know, I’m rambling and blubbering again. Geez this sucks. All right, on to the matter at hand. Can you guess what the topic will be? Ding, ding, ding… you guessed correctly. It’ll be about freakin’ Brett McMillan again. Oh how I wish I could hate this man.

I know I am going to get myself into a shit load of trouble if word ever got out that I was flirting with an employee. Here I am supposed to be upholding the policies and procedures, but instead I’m breaking them. I blame Brett and his damn smile. The ‘flirting’ has gotten much more intense in the past few days. I dunno why it suddenly became that way, but there it is. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the attention, but it just seems so sudden.

As a matter of fact, he confirmed that I’m not crazy and that he likes me too. He constantly feels the need to whisper in my ear. Not just hello either. He tells me how his mouth waters when he sees me in a skirt because he’s wondering what I’m wearing underneath. Some may find that perverted and gross, I find it sexy as hell. It takes a real man to tell it like it is and not be afraid to tell you what he’s thinking. Of course, that’s just my opinion. I may have to admit that the sound of his voice so close to me makes me wet, but I ain’t that brave yet. Another time perhaps, but not today.
