Mick Avery is a well-known musician, formerly a member of both the Rolling Stones and the Kinks. (please confirm or expand if I have this wrong) Does music still play an important role in your life today?

Mick Avery who was in the Kinks also happens to be the same name as me and funnily enough, is like some kind of alter ego, at one time we even looked alike and are of a similar age! As everyone knows he played drums with the Kinks and I have very often been confused with him as I too have always played drums and percussion since the age of 8!! It was a pure coincidence and drumming was just something that came very naturally to me.

I grew up on music of groups like Hendricks, Mountain, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Spirit, Pink Floyd as well as soul and early R&B, Stevie Wonder, Elvis, Beatles and Stones and so many others. I did not have a preference of a particular musical form and enjoyed some classical pieces too. It was ability and musical genius I admired. From the very beginning I was involved with other musicians and was inspired by such diversity later on through Genesis, Yes, Zeppelin, Bowie, Roxy Music, Elton John, Queen, John McLaughlin, Eagles, Doobie Bros, Weather Report, but also Jazz like Gillespie and Coltrane and so many of the other 70’s and 80’s artists, all good musicians (Michael McDonnald especially a favourite). I did my first professional gig when I was 10.

I never really got involved with the celeb side of music as much of the work I did was as a session player. I preferred to play experimental music and was in a jazz-rock orchestra for 4 years (like Phil Collins and Brand-X) and we toured Britain, Holland and Germany and released one LP. After that I played as a session player for various artists in studios and live venues across the U.K releasing various things along the way.

I was occasionally signed to record labels during my career, wrote a ballet, for which I wrote the music and, played and toured with the signed late seventies band, ‘Punishment of Luxury’ which came from the NE of England. I became a studio engineer and producer too and recorded many diverse records, from ancient Celtic and English country music to punk rock, heavy metal and melodic songs, blues and R&B too. I co-wrote the theme music to our new radio show, ‘The Spirit Teaching Radio Show’ hosted by ArtistFirst world network with Sylvie, and we also recorded quite a lot of other material and both played in local bands in where we lived, which is how we met. We hope at some stage and with time permitting that we will have the chance to produce new material which will have a different flavour to it; some of it will be meditation creating, and others melodic symbolic pieces.

Was your introduction to a new-age lifestyle a surprise? Could you please briefly explain how you become a deep trance medium? Would you please tell us a little of your background?

I was always looking for something to give me answers to life but never found it although I used to do astral travelling when I was in my late ‘teens.’ At one point I became involved in Shoshu Buddhism, Divine Light, Scientology and even Christianity.

I became a deep trance medium in my early forties, as after I met Sylvie we began attending meditation classes at a spiritualist church in the U.K.

After about 18 months and having been tutored by some of the best mediums in England, and witnessing many spirit sessions including physical mediumship, one evening, we were invited to a physical séance at a private house, where a medium of note had been asked to do a session of spirit interactivity. Basically, what happened was that a spirit told all of the people present that they had been assembled to develop me as a deep trance physical medium (as it is a form of physical mediumship). It was a complete surprise to both of us.

The development began and we have continued it to this day. We used to sit for the development of our gifts every day, seven days a week and because it was so intense I developed my gift very quickly. And incidentally, even though we work 24-7 for spirit, both Sylvie and I still sit for our development every day. We get up at 6.00am and work for an hour with our spirit guides and any new contacts; we never stop learning.

Had you had any inkling of psychic ability or channelling in your past, prior to becoming an established medium?

At the age of four I had friends who no one else could see. Like many children it was assumed by my family as being fantasy or withdrawing from the real world, possibly from some psychotic problem they thought I had. I suppose I did feel strange because others could not see what I could. I felt more isolated the more spirit related contact I had. On reflection, throughout my school life I became more and more outcast though playing drums and percussion certainly helped me cope with this stress. A lot of the intensity to do with my life came from playing drums and I really found it became a spiritual high and it was virtually all I did up until my back gave out at the age of 40.

Another form of escapism for me was nature. I would spend a lot of time in the forest near to where we lived, just in a state of ‘being.’

Could you please explain just what a deep trance medium is?

A deep trance medium is someone who gives themselves completely to the spirit world enabling spirit people to borrow the physical state for purposes of communication, in whatever way that happens to be. It can be for healing as well as voice communication. I do both.

For the voice communication the spirit world use my physical being just as I would if it were me talking but with their voice and accent, mannerisms and personality. I am seated with my eyes closed and when spirit come through they have control of the upper portion of my body as well for other movements and hand gestures. My spirit is transported along with my consciousness to wherever the spirit team feel is appropriate until it is time for me to come back into my body.

A genuine fully developed deep trance medium will know absolutely nothing of the events taking place whilst in deep trance, nor will they have an awareness of the passage of time. There are various degrees of ability that the medium goes through, especially during development, which never stops and, everyone doing it will have developed their gift slightly differently because it will depend upon the consciousness; the ability to move beyond the physical state, and ego. Also, it will depend on what mechanism, if any, is put in place by the ‘spirit team’ working with the medium. This is what happened in my case as they use an ether world devise to enhance the exchange.

Some people think channelling is trance – but it isn’t. Instead, by way of definition, channelling is the ability to allow spirit people to communicate through the medium regardless of whether they are aware of it or not. This means that the person might actually be influencing the events within their own mind and what is taking place does not happen without influence.

For my deep trance healing I start by standing behind the patient and my healing guide Li Teow Sonicha comes through in seconds. Once again I am whisked away to somewhere safe in the spirit world.

Li Teow may stand behind the patient and work, sometimes kneeling, or he may walk around the front or sides, wherever the need is. I do not particularly have to know beforehand what is wrong with the patient as I’m not the one doing the healing. Apparently, Mr Sonicha always goes straight to the right areas and can spend half an hour or more diligently and gently doing what only he knows. He heals the body, mind, and spirit, plus cleanses auras of negativity. He has access to energies we have no concept of and often people say they can feel many more hands at work than my two.

We also heal animals and have wonderful results from that too. Together, Sylvie and I have been giving healing to her horse that had an injury that should have taken 10 months to get better, and it healed in 10 weeks.

Do you make contact with a particular spirit by will or is the contact open to whichever spirit comes through?

It depends entirely on how contact is established and why. Much of the time it is by arrangement and a particular guide, Gregory Haye speaks because he is the one individual in the spirit world who was trained to do this work. He has a particular gift of being able to address anyone regardless of their ego or status here, and make them feel individual and special (something I find very difficult to do personally) and answer virtual any question put to him.

This is partly because he is such a wonderful, gregarious character (something I am not) and full of knowledge. It is also because he is speaking on behalf of others of great knowledge in the group as they elected him as their speaker. He is a kind, non-judgemental being who brings understanding to anyone on any level. He is obviously a highly evolved being but speaks, at a down-to-earth level, with us all.

Occasionally, there might be someone completely different who comes through to speak and we do not dictate who is to be present from the spirit ‘team,’ as we never know from one time to another who will be there. Except for our radio shows, and then it is always Gregory. Because we made this arrangement with the spirit world, it means that whatever they do we know it will be in the interest of the group.

For instance, with the writing of The Soul Group: Its Meaning, Magic and Imagery, a system was formed by the many eminent minds of the group at that time. Different people spoke and completed a chapter at a time, though they did not necessarily identify themselves because it was just that they wanted to have the experience of using the mechanism of trance. They were clearly people Sylvie didn’t recognise by their mannerisms, character, voices, and sentence structure, although some did introduce themselves by name at times.

Do you follow any special procedure / diet / other habits before a deep trance session? Or after?

I used to be quite methodical about bathing before a session; not talking to anyone before-hand so as not to cloud my mind with chit-chat and other thoughts before it happened. I still do that if I can, just so I have sense of purpose and I wind down and try to let go of the events of the day before the session to come. Alcohol is a no-no.

As with before any meditation, I try to lose the sense of the busy lives we might lead and allow everything just to dissipate and be gone so I can be presented in the right state of mind to the spirit world. It is still all about meeting them half way at least.

I eat a light healthy meal at least two hours before the session and try to have a sleep. I never really know for sure if a session is going to be successful or not as each one is an experiment. We never take anything for granted but just trust that all will come out as it should. So far everything has been a success.

We used to be very particular about the conditions of the place or atmosphere of a session though we are not so much now because we had to get to the stage where I had to be able to do it in pretty much any condition or circumstance. These days, the spirit control is able to come through taking complete control of all physical function of my body in a short space of time. Less than ten seconds on live radio is the quickest to date.

At each session I never know where spirit are going to take me because then I would wait for that and it would get in the way of ‘letting go.’ Sometimes I retain a memory of where I have been but not every time. They are too numerous to mention, but I have remembered sitting on a chair in a plain room, feeling like a pebble on a beach, sitting in a bush, going to meetings and sometimes it is just a short blank in my life.

After a deep trance session I always feel so elated with energy, even if it has lasted two hours or more. I feel invigorated by it and am sometimes on a kind of high!

Would you please tell us about Sylvie’s role in your life purpose and how she assists your work as a medium?

Sylvie is a physical medium, healer, teacher, editor and co-host for our show. We are not bringing her work to the public domain yet as we are working on a very different format with her. In her form of mediumship, she also goes into deep trance but for a different purpose as her primary gift is to allow the spirit world to manifest things physically in our world for people to see and communicate with in a real way. They use elements of her physical being and energy to clothe and form themselves or borrow objects from elsewhere.

We have been perfecting this other form of contact so people will be able to have a complete experience and be able to touch their relatives, hold their hands, or perhaps even hug them. There are other physical mediums we know who are conducting similar experiments but it is a long process and can take years. She has already devoted 14 years to this work.

Our life purpose is the same and we both apply ourselves to every task ahead of us in the ways we were asked to by our spirit friends, as we made the agreement with them, which we honour and keep in every sense of our lives.

She edits all of the material for publication; directs any events we hold, whether they are private or public sessions or workshops. She also is the supply of the energy catalyst needed to bring the spirit transfer mechanism in to enable my consciousness to leave so quickly and enable the whole evolution of our practise at every session. We both take part in meditation circles and teaching groups for people to develop their gifts and often work together when we do healing as well.

Who are the White Cloud Group mentioned in your books?

The White Cloud Group is a collection of spirit people who wish to bring understanding and create a greater destiny and knowledge for the good of all. It is not a static group of people fixed for all time but comes from many different soul groups and from all walks of life. They consist of eminent scientists, physicists, doctors, philosophers, geologists etc, along with ordinary people. Combined they have engaged in diverse teachings and gathered understanding from far and wide.

White Cloud himself was a Cherokee native who had a physical existence many hundreds of years ago and was a teacher and shaman of his time. He became a ‘Shining One’ similar to a few others who walked the earth during their progression throughout our earth history. These are people who register great achievement in learning and understanding within their lifetime, who change attitudes and beliefs to others, bringing truth and reality of our higher consciousness so we may progress as a race on earth.

Shining Ones are not of another race nor are typically human, although they may be but it is because of their intense love for all of us that they become something of an enlightened being and so figure in our lives in a directive way. Shining Ones do not have ego and only exist for greater creation. Having said this, there will always be those who will insist they have made contact with a Shining One, but it will not be the case. People will always try to elevate self worth by these claims.

The group itself is an educational collective who have come together because we are not listening to our own inner voice as a people and it has become imperative for the sake of our planet and our own nature that we move in a different direction away from elf harm, darkness and negativity. They want to try to save our world from ourselves!

You talk to a wide variety of spirits, who are the main ones?

Gregory Haye is the main protagonist. Then there is Silver Fox who is a crow native. Mr Sonicha the healing spirit guide, who has also written some work and is waiting for us to start on his book.

We have been visited by others, Diana Spencer (though her work will never be revealed by name) Churchill, Tesla, Gordon Higginson (famous English medium), Albert Einstein, film stars and pop stars, as well as ordinary people. We generally try to stay away from the use of people’s names in works because they prefer the anonymity and in that way we safeguard their identity as we do not wish to use names to elevate ourselves. We do not abuse their trust in using us and will only give a name with their permission.

We do a lot of rescue work and a lot of confidential and ‘behind the scenes’ work. For instance we have helped people who perished in such disasters as 9/11 get in touch with their families.

We also help people in distress with negative entities which are affecting their lives, such as poltergeist, and surprisingly, alien implants. This is a new dangerous twist in our work as some people have sought help from alien races through a few mediums here, conspiring to give them psychic abilities with added promises in return, only to find out later that this an insidious ploy in putting themselves and others at risk bringing them out of their depth. Unfortunately, people can attract malignant energy entities creating situations which have a price to pay eventually.

We also do a lot of work with people with spirit attachments, negative energies who have not overcome the misdeeds they created when in physical life. These can sometimes be quite dangerous and threatening. It is a world-wide problem.

The White Cloud Group have much to say in your books about the physical state of our planet, could you please summarize their main theme?

The White Cloud group are trying to alter our behaviour so we become more responsible because unless we do, we will not have much time left to change our course and be able to continue our race the way we would like on the planet we use. It has been said by the group many times that they wish for us to open our eyes and our voices to bring accountability to everyone. They are intent on showing how we must regain our responsibility of self within our own life time and not leave our mess for someone else o clear up after us like we have to for the actions of others.

Ecologically speaking, as a race, we have just a small window of opportunity within which to act and it is because of our duty of care to each other and ourselves to act positively. The spirit world needs the planet to continue the creation of physical state. We have to bring awareness to everyone of our need to change our careless behaviour. We have so little time left to do this and correct the path already made.

We can do it but only if everyone acts now. Even then we still have to endure what we have already set in motion until the planet regains its equilibrium. Even though we are seeing the planetary change it is still being denied by many, especially companies who have vested interests in preserving their abuse.

We try to instil in people that they do have a voice even if it’s only recycling items at home. We can write letters and complain. We can boycott products that are made from the rainforests and other endangered resources - just don’t buy it. We can join groups such as Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace and become a bigger voice (don’t accept being told you are a terrorist by doing this). We can get our thinking caps on and start inventing ways to use renewable power generation from wind, sea, sun, geothermal devices, barrage generators. Support those with the ideas already. We already know we can run vehicles on water for instance or vegetable fluids. Network with like-minded people. We just allow others to deny us the right of choice and voice.

I believe that many of the messages that you have in your books could transform people’s lives with a change in awareness and attitude gained through knowledge. Do you have a personal favourite message or recurring theme?

I just love your first sentence and it is so heartening to see that you really do understand where we are coming from. I do not personally have a favourite part of what they are saying as to me it is all so relevant. I guess the point is that, I felt very disenchanted by the attitudes people had before I began doing the spirit work, and even now feel we are banging our heads against a brick wall.

I think the most important messages from any of the books are about the fact that we are responsible for our own actions and we do have a way of correcting the mess we dig ourselves into. Most of our understanding of life is through meditation for example, and is free to us because our spirit is part of what we are. Discover that. No one single person can make us pay for that connection and you really do not have to have great intelligence to work it out, as the spirit world is something we are all a part of and is there for everyone.

My most favourite realization, if you can call it that, is about the fact that we only have ourselves to create our living reality. The present thought and concept we may have of self, has been acquired by events we cannot alter as they lie in the past. If you let that go and view a new horizon you will observe something else because you look with new eyes, then truly, you are alive!

Some people believe that the world is undergoing a spiritual evolution; do you see signs of this?

Our spirit team have often said they see no real evidence of change in thinking because politically and religiously, we have remained stagnant. Notwithstanding, there still exists great religious upheaval because some groups become so suppressed through indoctrination by their teachers, clergy, or whoever holds sway over them. None of these have furthered their cause to actually identify and create something good and lasting other than mission-driven statements and ideologies, which amount to witch hunts of other groups bringing people to single-minded obedience. This is what creates instability and negativity to the world. People try to kill off liberalism because it threatens some views of identity or political control.

For this reason the spirit representatives state clearly that we have not really progressed much beyond the middle ages other than through our technological evolution and individual self-obsession with possessions and hierarchical self interest.

New Ageism always wanted to be the real fore-runner of a clandestine revolution in thinking and the raising of higher consciousness but has so far continued to retain indoctrinations as cast by ancient rites or religious orders and just as viciously protects its symbolism with the same degree of negativity to all other schools of thought as any other religion has in the past. So no change there then.

The fact remains, religion does not exist in the spirit world other than what we practise and take with us when we pass from here. We are all part of the Source of all Life/ God/ Creator/ whatever you wish to call it, and we are all responsible and accountable for our actions and thoughts when it comes to the great judgement we bring to ourselves. We indoctrinate self with our own walls, failing to see the real mistakes we make in the process of herding and never develop beyond them.

Religion in itself is not a bad thing; it can be a wonderful development for someone as long as individuals are still free-thinking and responsible and practise what they preach. Religion does not make a beautiful person; they are already, they just do not connect with this fact. The power of prayer is very real and active, but to fight and kill over whose God is best, and to be indoctrinated into the fear of what may become of you if you stray from the herd is nothing but primeval, surely.

Do you have any current works in progress?

We have masses of work in progress with at least 12 books waiting to be published at this time; along with numerous audio CD’s from over 400 hours of recorded spirit interactive sessions. We have recently completed the outline text from the spirit team for a book on children, childhood behaviour, and where we really come from as spirit beings. We have numerous other works on life’s most difficult questions and where there exists answers to do with “Life, the Universe and Everything!” Plus the Healing book I mentioned. We need more hours in a day and about 6 staff, but there is only Sylvie and I.

Our radio program on ArtistFirst.com continues to grow and we encourage people to listen to it and take part; you can send questions by e-mail. We look at every aspect of thought, life and death, and of why we exist at all. Each program centres upon one individual subject with an intensive discussion on it with our spirit guide Gregory Haye who I go into deep-trance for, live on-air. The show’s supposed to be an hour long but always goes over by ten minutes. It’s every Tuesday 11pm est.

We have done shows on Gregory Haye and the White Cloud group, Deep Trance Mediumship (Channelling), Planetary Care, Ghosts and Poltergeist, Aliens, UFO’s and Extraterrestrials, Positive Harmonic Propulsion, Physical Mediumship etc, and the list is endless.

Is there anything that you would like to say to people who are learning about your trance messages for the first time?

Please buy our books. They are not written as coming from any previous thought of other people’s ideas in physical life, other than those of people who continue to live in the spirit world, frustrated by our behaviour and lack of vision and grip on the reality life gives to us. We will all eventually return there and have to face them and ourselves.

I have never read a book on spirit philosophy or any of the ideas given by the team. Our books are not taken from the basis of any religion but are about the destiny, shaping and well-being of life and how to live yours with success and knowledge to create happiness for your future. We are about centring the individual on their unique qualities to help them realize their fullest potential for all of us to benefit! Remember, there is nothing to fear.
