Mackenzie McKade Interview

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us at FAR- Fallen Angel Reviews. We know a few things about you such as your web site: www.mackenziemckade.com but we are all curious to know more. So by answering these questions you can help us get to know you.

On your web site it says, ”Hey why don't you join my loop http://groups.yahoo.com/group/macsdreamscape. Here we discuss dreams, wishes, fantasies, and simply chat about what's on your mind. I'd love to hear from you.” Can anyone join?
You bet. The more the merrier. I welcome new members. Currently I'm trying to get sensual ideas for my next book. My members are very helpful in giving me ideas and suggestions, not to mention we have a great time chatting.

Of all your books which one would you say holds the most meaning for you and why?
That would be THE GAME. Since it was my first book published it will always hold a special place in my heart. I love the characters and the emotion each one of them experience to find their way back to each other.

If you could pick one book which book or story would you like to personally take part in as the character?
Without a doubt that would be Abby in Return to Wonderland: Lord Kir of Oz. She has such spirit when tossed into a fairytale world. And who won't want to take part in a fantasy place where men are men and women work all the harder to outsmart them!

Besides writing all those great books, what do you do in your spare time, if you have any?
I'm a mother of three girls. What spare time? LOL Actually, I love to read, which I find almost impossible these days. I also critique other authors' work. I am the Vice-President of the Romance Writers' of America in one of the local chapters. And when I get the opportunity I love to go to the lake.

Are you under contract for any new books, or have any in the works? Can you tell us a little bit about them? Just a little, please?
I have two more contracts with Ellora's Cave. Forbidden Fruit is Futuristic BDSM story set on the same ecstasy planet as The Game. A Tall Dark Cowboy which is a contemporary cowboy story with a twist. The second book in the Ecstasy series tentatively entitled The Masquerade is completed and with Ellora's Cave for consideration. I invite you to visit my website and read an excerpt of each of these books.

What's your favorite thing about fall? (since its right around the corner)
The holidays. I love Christmas lights, the joyful spirit, and the smell of pine trees.

When writing what do you consider to be the key elements of a great story?
Powerful characters and high emotion that draws you into the story and makes you feel like you're taking the ride along with them.

Tell us something about you they would never guess.
Okay, I can't get anyone to believe I'm shy, so how about being a country girl at heart. I love the outdoors and animals. Hate large crowds, even though people think I'm right at home with them. And my outgoing personality is cover-up for being nervous. The more nervous I am the more I talk and crack jokes. There! You have uncovered the real me!

With all those great reviews on your books can you tell us what you are striving to capture next?
To continue to entertain my readers. There is nothing more rewarding then being able to trigger strong emotions in an individual. I want to make people laugh, cry, and sometimes even get angry, only then well I know my writing has moved them.

What is the one thing that makes you cringe when it comes to doing? I hate laundry!
Writing a synopsis. I'd rather write the entire book then write a six page synopsis. I simply hate the things. Housework comes in a close second. LOL

Do you have any special rituals to help you get in the mood to write?
I must be pretty boring because I don't do anything special other then sit before the computer and tell myself to write. To be honest sometimes it works other times it doesn't. I just keep my fingers crossed I'm having a good day. Honestly I do read the last chapter to try to get into the rhythm before I begin.

Who is your favorite author?
I have so many, but if I have to choose only one it would be Christine Feehan. I love her Dark series.

Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions. We wish you all the best and hope to hear more about your great books and upcoming books.
