Today I am speaking with
Elaine Charton,Hi
Elaine! Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us. The readers would love to hear something about
Elaine Charton.
I would like to begin by saying I love your beginning statement on your website:
You deserve a happy ever after. I like that motto
Elaine.
Thank you, I was trying to come up with something that would express the way I feel about my stories. It dawned on me, no matter how bad things get and how much I throw at my hero/heroine I insist on ending with a Happy Ever After.
Why don’t you begin by telling us something about what you are working on at this time?
I'm currently working on Mac's Man. It's a romantic suspense and for those people who have read Pandora's Justice or EZ Lovin' this is the third book in that series. It's an amnesia story set in northern Maine. It's not finished yet so I don't have a Pub Date.
What is your favorite genre to write when you are composing?
Suspense, even with my paranormals I like to have a touch of suspense in there. My muse won't have it any other way. I started out writing straight romance and all these dead bodies kept showing up. :-D I think the only story that didn't have a touch of suspense was The Christmas Necklace. It's part of Triskelion's Christmas Anthology ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. Which by the way is a finalist in the anthology category of this years Eppies.
Did you always wish to be a writer? And where do you get your inspiration?
I've always told stories, I used to change the endings of books and movies if I didn't like the way it ended. I didn't really started writing until I was in my late 30's. I had taken an English class that ended up more of a creative writing class. It was that professor, and my husband, who encouraged me.
My inspiration comes from things I see around me. I'm a big news freak and I get ideas from the news as well as from things I see around me.
Do you have a hectic schedule that prohibits you from writing more than you would like?
Doesn't everyone? =-O I have a full time job, a husband, two cats and am active in my local RWA Chapter. I also handle updates on my website as well as my husbands. And don't forget keeping up with my email.
What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
A few months ago I had gastric bypass surgery and so far have lost over 60 lbs.
What do you like most about your writing?
Seeing my stories come to life on the computer screen.
What advice would you have for those just starting out writing?
Be persistent and determined. It took me 12 years before Pandora's Justice was published. It will happen if you want it bad enough.
Do you get along well with your publisher and editors?
I think I do. I've not heard any complaints.
Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share?
In addition to Mac's Man, I'm working and a few ideas, one is a ghost story and one is actually a sequel to Man in the Mirror. But those are still in the research stage.
Do you have a website other than this one that you would like to share?
http://itsbetterthanyouthink.blogspot.com/ - this is my blog it's mostly about my life after weight loss surgery for those who are interested.
The Triskelion Authors also have a blog http://triskelionauthors.blogspot.com/
I'm also on http://www.flowersandhearts.com/ a promotional site for a bunch of authors published with epubs and/or small press publications.
Do you have a link where anyone can buy your books that you would like to share with us?
Yes Triskelion Publishing, my publisher is celebrating their second anniversary. They've just updated their web site and it is very cool with all kinds of new stuff. Check it out.
