Tonya Ramagos Interview

Today I have the opportunity to interview Tonya Ramagos.
Tonya, it is so good to have you with us today! Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews and thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to visit with us.
Thanks for inviting me! It's great to be here.

Would you like to begin by telling us about yourself?
I'm a mother of 2 boys living in Tampa, FL. I began writing when I was in Junior High. Years later, in 1999, my first book was accepted for publication. My writing career began with young adult romance though I have since moved on to traditional and erotic romances. My favorite ways to pass the time are reading, writing and attending rock concerts.

What is your favorite genre for reading or writing?
Romance! Of any kind. I love to read it and write it. I tend to lean more toward erotica romances these days because anything goes in that genre. But I still enjoy the traditional side of romances as well.

If you could choose someone to write with you whether living or dead, who would you choose?
Wow! That's something I've never thought about. Hmmm, let's see...I have no idea. My first impulse is to say Nora Roberts but what romance author wouldn't want that opportunity?

Do you listen to music or watch television when you are busy writing, sort of like an inspiration?
I often listen to nature or soundscape music when I'm writing. It's soothing, and there's no words to sing along with. LOL My favorite type of music is hard rock/heavy metal but when I listen to it I do more singing along than writing.

Do you have a conflicting schedule with other matters that doesn’t allow you to write as often as you wish?
Unfortunately, yes. I have a night job that takes up 6-8 hours of my evenings, kids and a husband. Between baths, homework, general domestic chores, the job and the hubby (who is another kid himself) my time to write sometimes seems non-existent. But I usually manage to squeeze in a couple of hours a day.

Are your characters sometimes based on real people or made up?
The only characters I've created based on real people so far are the men in my HEAVY METAL SEDUCTION series. Derek Kadin, Garrett Henry, Reese Torin and James Fisher are loosely based on the members of the hard rock band Disturbed. Other than those, my characters have always been solely from my imagination.

Do you have an agent or ever considered getting one?
I'm looking for an agent now. I have a query out to a few and am awaiting responses. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What are your goals for your writing career in the future?
My main goal has always been simply to entertain as many readers as I can reach. In addition to that, I hope to find an agent and/or publisher who will get my books in print.

Do you ever run into trouble when you are working on a story with the characters or the storyline?
Quite often. Some stories simply seem to fall into place. But there have been some that have left me pulling out my hair, banging my head against the wall and screaming to the top of my lungs until I finally figured out where the story was going.

How did you feel when you got your first contract?
I sat disbelievingly at first. Then I jumped up, did a little dance, let out a couple of yells and cried. LOL It's still pretty much what I do every time I'm offered a contract, though I have managed to tone it down a little now.

Do you have another website besides this one that you would like to share? http://www.tonyaramagos.com
