Bella Andre Interview

Hi Bella! Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us. The readers would love to hear something about you.

Tell your fans something about you they would never guess.
I love to read British/Irish family sagas. And Disney movies are my favorite. Not quite what you'd expect from an erotic romance gal like myself. ;-)

Of all things you have accomplished, is there one accomplishment you are most proud of?
Selling a novel to Ellora's Cave was huge for me! I'd published non-fiction before, but for someone to want to buy a novel from me...wow, that blew me away! And, of course, when Simon & Schuster bought three books last year, I was incredibly thrilled. Making it in fiction has been my proudest accomplishment.

If you could be invisible for one hour, what would you do and where would you go?
Funny, I've never thought about this before....but you know, my husband and I always joke that we should have been spies because we seem to have the invisibility thing down a lot when we go out in public. ;-) Although since we had our gorgeous son, everyone recognizes us now.

Could you tell us your biggest pet peeves?
When I get too competitive and worry too much about what everyone else is doing rather than focusing on what I can control.

Can you tell us about your music? What style do you perform and where can fans find it?
I have four CDs. Three with a band called "the girl & i" and one solo CD called bare. The first three with the band are what we called "agressive folk music". My solo Cd is much more along the lines of Norah Jones. If people are interested in hearing clips, they can go to http://www.cdbaby.com/nyree

Since everybody needs a break, even when doing something they love, how do you like to spend your time away from writing?
I love to go for a walk with my husband, sneak out to a movie, and eat Thai food!

What is a day in your life like? Can you take us with you?
I get up, grab my son from his crib, feed both of us breakfast, go for a walk, put him down for his nap, write as fast as I can!!, go get him in the late afternoon, play/play/play with him, dinner with the hubby, collapse on the couch in front of the fire while making Elmo dance some more.

How has being published changed your life, if at all?
Well, I'm much busier because I have deadlines. And they've paid me already! ;-) I've always been quite driven, so that's not different. I think I'm more focused now that I'm a mom and have limited hours to work in.

How different has it been publishing with Pocket Books vs. Ellora's Cave?
Frankly they've both been great. I have been lucky to work with two great editors. I haven't changed anything and no one has asked me to, so I feel very fortunate with where I am.

Congratulations on signing on for two more books with Pocket; WINE, WOMEN & SEDUCTION and CONSTANT CRAVINGS. Can you tell us about them?
Thanks! Wine, Women & Seduction is, in a nutshell, three women at a crossroads in their life who take a trip up to the Napa Valley wine country and end up finding the sexy men of their dreams (a vinter, a chef, and a painter). Think the movie Sideways, but with women.

Constant Cravings opens at the ten year college reunion of the h/h. She horribly betrayed him in college and he's coming to get his revenge. Of course, she's ripe for the picking and they can't keep their hands off each other. Also set in Napa Valley. [I live in the the wine country, so it's a natural setting for me.]

Do you have anything else in the works?
I do! I'm working on Luke and Janica's story [the sequel to TAKE ME] and I've gotten loads of wonderful emails from readers asking for their story. Cross your fingers that I'll have some happy publication news on that front in the near future.

Is there anything you'd like to add?
I just want to thank everyone for taking a chance on Take Me! As a relatively new author it's always a thrill to find out that someone saw my book in a bookstore and decided to buy it because they liked the cover, the back of the book, the first page, or whatever else drew them in.

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions. If you'd like to learn more about Bella Andre, check out her website. (I'll link to your site on the interview page)
