Eva Gale Interview

Today I’d like to welcome Eva Gale to Fallen Angel Reviews. Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions for us today Eva.
Thank you for having me!

If you could go anywhere, be anyone, do anything for 24 hours, what would it be?
Wow, that one needs some thought. For a day? I'd probably go back in time to say, 1500 BC.

How has being published changed your life, if at all?
Naw, not at all. Still flipping eggs for breakfast and other Mommy things.

You must stay very busy with writing and home schooling seven children, so what do you do to relax?
I write! And read. My husband gives great backrubs too.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
How hard it is! Really. It's not something that you just plop yourself in front of the computer and whip out. It's a challenge, and I enjoy it immensely.

How much time do you spend doing research for a story?
I'm a research addict. One of my greatest pet peeves is faulty facts in stories. Even contemporaries need research. I could get lost in it honestly. I love learning.

You currently have an erotic romance; 101 Degrees Fahrenheit out now and are working on a historical and paranormal romance. Are there any other genres you’d like to try?
Wow! You've done your research! My historical is on the backburner, although historicals are my first love and I will eventually write another. The paranormal is in its birthing form. Meaning notes upon notes. The fun thing about that one is I get to make it all up instead of researching it out. It's a weird feeling. Other genres? Actually yes, I've been thinking about YA. Putting together the year’s curriculums makes me see holes in historical fiction for kids and I'd like to fill some of those gaps. Eventually. :-)

Was there any one person or event in your life that finally inspired you to sit down and write your first book?
Getting my back surgery. I rediscovered reading while lying on my stomach for months on end after my surgery I decided I wanted to give the same gift. To be able to offer a few minutes of escape.

What would we find on your bookshelf?
What a scary question! Everything! I have books everywhere. In every room. Stacks. From encyclopedias and non fiction to some new paranormals. Plutarch to MJD. My TBR is Dark Need by Lynn Vhiel, Undead and Unwed by MJD, Never Seduce a Scoundrel by Sabrina Jeffries, Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card, The Compass Rose by Gail Dayton, White as Snow by Tanith Lee, ADHD and Teens by Colleen Alexander and I'm still reading A Mind of It's Own, A Cultural History of the Penis by Davis M Friedman. :)

Can you tell us more about 101 Degrees Fahrenheit?
Basically it's a snippet of time in the lives of Dean and Kathy Roberts whose marriage has been on the rocks and how they go about bringing back the spark.

Can you give us a glimpse at your upcoming books?
Right now I'm finishing up a contemporary set in Manaus, Brazil. Olivia Sandoval is an archeologist working on Terra Preta, and her longtime friend and assistant Alejandro Mayo finds that someone has been leaking information and selling it. Between finding out who's diverting research and their longtime friendship that suddenly turns a corner, they have their hands full!

Is there anything else you would like to share with your readers today?
Just to say thank you. If they didn't read, I wouldn't be writing!

Thank you so much, Eva, for spending time with us today!
