Amy Mistretta Interview

Welcome to Fallen Angel Reviews Amy! Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions for us today.
Thanks for having me!

Please us a little about yourself.
I have to say, my biggest passion is creating characters for my readers to fall in love with over and over again. I have four published romantic-suspense novels under my belt and don’t see myself closing the door on the publishing world anytime soon!

Alone is Forrester Rock is due out this fall, what’s it about?
Hope you enjoy the blurb!

Victoria Valentino thought she had her whole life planned out, until one day when she wandered upon her fiancés horrifying involvements with the mob. Caught-up in the violent gunfire between Brock and the FBI, Victoria is pronounced dead, but only as a cover-up. Out of fear for her life, she's placed in The Witness Protection Program and shipped six-hundred miles away to the forsaken town of Forrester Rock.

Alone and afraid, Tori meets Walker Garrison, a drifter with a secret past of his own. Tori discovers herself being uncontrollably drawn to this man, his cabin and his bed. But is Walker the man he appears to be, a man to be trusted? Trouble is, someone in Forrester Rock already knows who she really is. And they aren't the only ones....

You recently signed a contract with Samhain Publishing for Secrets Within, available in September. Can we get a sneak peek?
You sure can! You can find the first chapter on my website at: http://www.amymistretta.com/id32.html For now, here’s a peek at the backcover blurb

Reese Abbot is content living in Massachusetts away from her prominent family, and the last thing she wants to do is give up her dream job as an architect at one of Cape Cod's most distinguished firms. But the death of her great-aunt forces her to return to Wild Ridge to stake claim on the Victorian mansion that has been in The Abbot family for centuries before her family’s greed allows it to go to the highest bidder.

However, the man Reese hires to help her bring the old place back to life has a disturbing past. Years ago, he was accused and convicted in one of the biggest controversies to hit their small town. Back then, Reese had always believed in Evan Payne’s innocence. Now spending every day alongside him, unable to deny the passion stirring between them, she’s convinced there was more to his case than anyone in the town -- or Evan -- was willing to admit.

Will Reese find more than she bargains for when she seeks out the truth about Evan’s past? Or will her instincts only wrap her deeper into the Secrets Within

Tell your readers something about you they would never guess.
LOL, I’d have to say I’m a total biker chic! There’s nothing more relaxing than being on the back of my husband’s Harley with the wind blowing through my hair. Damn, I sound like a romance writer LOL!

What is your favorite part of a book to write?
I love watching my hero and heroine fight all the odds to stay together. I’d have to say writing that final ‘black moment,’ the one scene threatening to rip them apart, is the most exciting for me.

If you could be invisible for one hour, what would you do and where would you go?
I would go to the most beautiful, secluded beach and sip cocktails for the whole hour!

Do you have a favorite movie that you could watch over and over again? Why?
Don’t laugh and don’t call me a sap, but I could literally watch “Dirty Dancing” over and over again. Personally, as a teenager, I would’ve given anything for my parents to take me to a place like Kellerman’s Resort for the summer just to have Patrick Swayze teach me to dirty dance! All right, I guess I am a sap…

Could you describe for us your idea of the perfect man?
Now that I’ve expressed my teenage lust for Patrick Swayze, LOL, I have to say my husband’s the perfect man for me. He’s always stood by me, encouraging me to follow my dreams, his given me two beautiful kids, continues to romance me every chance we get and besides all that, he’s a hotty!

If you could go anywhere, be anyone, do anything for 24 hours, what would it be?
I’d love to go visit and work with Sandra Brown for a day. She’s been my silent mentor throughout my writing career.

You find yourself stranded on a desert island, what things could you not survive without?
Of course, my laptop. It’s like my right hand. I’d also take my hubby, some wine…Hmm… He might be kind of mad that I brought the laptop! LOL!

Do you have any special rituals to help you get in the mood to write?
I pop in my 38 Special CD and I’m good to go!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I want to thank everyone at FAR for having me. You all do so much to bring readers and authors together. I, for one, am absolutely grateful for that!
