Madison Foxe Interview

Today I’m pleased to be interviewing author Madison Foxe. Welcome to FAR Madison! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions for us today!

To start, will you please tell us a little bit about your current projects?
Currently, I have a novella in edits called Southern Cross. It takes place in the south, during the 30’s, with a tormented hero tainted by an abysmal past – a lonely, misrepresented heroine in a judgmental swamp-edged town – and those that can harm or save, woven within a very erotic tapestry. It does not embrace the paranormal – maybe just the normal……… Also, I look forward to the release of The Third Casket, and two other novels --- The Initiate, and Thirteen Serpents…. paranormal fiction from an unusual perspective.

If you could be invisible for one hour, what would you do and where would you go?
I would have to lie to answer this question…………………………..

How many books are you planning for your Lair of the Wolves Series?
I wrote two shorts to test the water to see how my style of writing about Lycans would be received. The third, which I am working on now is a full novel and will be the flag-ship for those to come.

How has being published changed your life, if at all?
Being published validates one’s work…or comprehension of it…

What is the biggest misconception about being an author?
That writing is more an art then a business. Some of the worst writing I have read has sold well, whereas some excellent work has disappeared into the cracks….success for any author is often more a matter of timing and subject, and less about quality. Though some of us manage to combine all three. (grin)

Can you tell us more about your book The Mandorla Medallion and how you came up with the storyline?
It is a combination of subject matters that I explored for interest long before writing -- alchemy, archeological mysteries, melded with erotica and adventure….it was a first in a series….the second in works is called The Mask of the Kalenderi, which will bring several characters back together and add a few more……oh, the plot thickens….

What makes a great book to you?
I assume you are asking about fiction. Any book that keeps my interest until the last page is a great book. It usually involves an element of mystery, romance, adventure and a surprise ending………when I was a few years younger (smile) I was hooked on the Nancy Drew and the Anne of Green Gables, series. I guess I like what I write… a story with an open door at the end……

What would we find on your bookshelf?
Predominately non-fiction. At a quick glance: The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology; The Essential Jung; The Gnostic Jung; Signs and Symbols; Libraries of the Ancient World; though, you will also find The Prophet and everything written by Umberto Eco…..there is more, but I don’t want to bore you…

Why do you think erotic fiction is so popular right now?
It is stylish and I believe there is a whispered rebellion afoot. It has become okay to overtly don a g-string panty (thong) – own a vibrator – explore one’s sexual identity --- and read erotica.

We all have one, so tell us yours. What is your favorite comfort food?
I am so common……….macaroni and cheese…….make that 3-cheese angel-hair….everything that sticks so well together…

Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?
Yes – Spending time with someone has to be as good, or better, then being alone…..I have enjoyed this moment!

Thank you so much, Madison, for spending time with us today! Readers, be sure to visit Madison’s website.
