Today I have the pleasure of speaking with
Cia Leah. Thanks for being here today
Cia and welcome to FAR!
Thank you, Tammy and FAR, for having me! It's a pleasure to be interviewed by you.
To start, will you please tell us a little bit about your current release
Faces from
The Zion Trilogy.
The Zion Trilogy started out with one book, FACES, and soon developed into a series of three novels. The continuing books in the series are Son Of Zion and Granddaughter of Zion. I like to refer to these books as romantic thrillers.
Faces portrays a psychopathic serial killer who beheads women with a machete. He takes the heads and leaves the bodies. His victims are beautiful women he becomes involved with or meets in different settings. In fact, he searches for his next masterpiece, intent on creating human art and unveiling it to the world.
What is your favorite part of a book to write?
I love beginnings. It's something new and exciting and it makes the 'what if' come to life.
From what do you derive the most inspiration for your writing?
The proverbial 'what if' is all I need to get the creative juices flowing.
I know that you write historical romances, thrillers, children's books, and sci-fi; so what is your favorite
type of genre to write?
My all time favorite is western historical romances. I love writing them and reading them. There's just something about the old west that intrigues me.
Is there a genre that you haven't tried and would like to?
I'd love to try a shifter. I've only read a couple, but I found a love for the genre. I don't know if I ever will write one, but I love reading them.
When did you first start writing?
I have been writing since I was a kid, thanks to my father, who always bought me the newest typewriter out there. He always encouraged me to write.
What made you want to become a writer?
A love for the written word, and for my dad who always listened to my stories. You will find some of those stories in my children's books. Mostly the Christmas and Easter stories.
What do you consider when buying a book for your library?
First and foremost, the cover has to catch my eye and then the blurb. I'll be quite honest and tell you the western historicals always catch my eye first, then the thrillers. It's got to hook me on page one and be fast paced.
Who are your favorite authors?
Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Cassie Edwards, and Cassandra Curtis among so many other authors on Romance Divas.
What advice would you give young writers?
I'd say follow your dream, never give up, and join Romance Divas. Romance Divas offers valuable information for any writer from workshops to the publishing business.
Can you tell us something about you that makes you unique?
I'm not unique, I don't think. I just love to write stories that appear in my mind.
Can you tell us a little about your upcoming works?
Right now, I am working on an historical western romance titled, Braedon's Touch. It takes place in Texas, early 1800's, and is about a woman bounty hunter, Cherry Red, who returns home to avenge her uncle's murder.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us today?
I am a two time cancer survivor and I would like to stress the importance for women to get their yearly checkups on time. Maybe in some way this may help other women out there.
Thank you so much,
