Melanie Anderson Interview

Good morning. Today I am speaking with Melanie Anderson.

Hi Melanie! And welcome to Fallen Angels Reviews. Let’s begin by telling us a typical day in the life of Melanie Anderson.
Well, on a weekday I typically help get my son get ready for school and then spend way too much time procrastinating before finally dragging myself to my 9-5 job. On the weekend’s more of the same, except I usually find time to fit some writing into the day as well. My best writing time is usually at night.

Melanie I read On The Run and loved it.
Thank you! I never get tired of hearing it!

Would you like to tell us a little about your current release?
My current release is On the Run and it’s the story of Pam and Gary, a divorced couple who find themselves thrown together by circumstances out of their control. Once together they both find that their feelings for each other haven’t really changed, but other obstacles stand in their ways. It’s really a story of a woman standing up to her fears and risking it all to be happy.

Do you have any upcoming projects you would care to share with us?
Sure! I have stories in two upcoming Linden Bay Romance anthologies. My first story titled One Magickal Night is in the anthology titled Witches Night which will be released October 15th. The second story, A Hero’s Welcome will be featured in the anthology Heroes Unwrapped which will be available in October.

Also, my second book in the racing series is tentatively scheduled for March 07.

Lots going on!

When did you decide you wanted to be a writer?
I don’t really remember a day I didn’t want to be a writer. For as long as I could remember I was making up stories or writing in journals. When I heard about the contest sponsored by Linden Bay Romance and Genesis Promotions, I submitted my book On the Run having no idea it would be the one to win! Now, I’m just planning on writing as long as people continue to want to read my stories!

Is there anything special you do to get you in the ambiance to write?
Not really. It’s more like a mood for me. Sometimes I listen to music and sometimes I don’t. There is no magic formula, but once I’m in the right mood, I can shut everything out.

Do you have a hard time coming up with names for your characters?
Last names are the hardest. I’ll find myself staring into space hoping a name will just appear.

If you could visit with anyone for a day, living or dead who would you choose?
I would love to visit with the NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. He’s what really got me interested in racing.

Do you have a favorite author?
So many! The ones that stick out most in my mind are Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips and LaVyrle Spencer.

How do you relax when you are not composing?
Well, obviously I read a lot. But I also like to watch old movies – the cornier the better, and play video games with my son.

What really draws your attention to a good book?
It’s usually the opening line or a really positive review.

How do we find out about you and your books?
You can go to Linden Bay Romance or Genesis Promotions

How may readers contact you?
You can reach me at melanie.anderson@lindenbayromance.com

How many readers/fans contact you?
Not as many as I’d like! I would love to hear from more!

Do your fans' comments and letters influence you in any way?
Positive comments make me want to do my best so that I can keep them coming back.

Do you have a favorite comment or question from a reader?
Not any specific comment, but I do love when they say they are going to reread my book! That’s one of the best compliments a writer can get.

For Fun: What is your favorite food? Your favorite movie?
I love a lot of food, but my favorite meals are something with pasta like lasagna. I think I mentioned I like really bad 80’s movies or cheesy comedies. There are a few serious movies I enjoy, but I usually don’t watch them more than once. Life is serious enough as it is!

Do you have a website that you would like to share with your readers?
Yes! My website is www.authormelanieanderson.com. I have a new blog on there and I would love for readers to visit!

Melanie, thanks so much for taking the time to be with us today. It has been a pleasure.
Thank you!
