Amy Mistretta Interview

Today I’d like to welcome Amy Mistretta to Fallen Angel Reviews. Thanks for taking the time to answer a few questions for us today Amy! Thanks for having me!

What is the wackiest job you can think of that you would like to do?
I don't know how wacky it is, but I'd love to be a Private Investigator!

If you could meet any one person (past or present) and ask them only one question - Who would it be, and what would your question be?
I'd love to meet Michael Easton. Not only is he a great actor, he has a knack for writing as well. I think I'd ask him for an autographed copy of his new release!

Can you tell us about your upcoming release, Secrets Within?
Here's a little blurb :)

Reese Abbot is content living in Massachusetts away from her prominent family, and the last thing she wants to do is give up her dream job as an architect at one of Cape Cod's most distinguished firms. But the death of her great-aunt forces her to return to Wild Ridge to stake claim on the Victorian mansion that has been in The Abbot family for centuries before her family’s greed allows it to go to the highest bidder.

However, the man Reese hires to help her bring the old place back to life has a disturbing past. Years ago, he was accused and convicted in one of the biggest controversies to hit their small town. Back then, Reese had always believed in Evan Payne’s innocence. Now spending every day alongside him, unable to deny the passion stirring between them, she’s convinced there was more to his case than anyone in the town -- or Evan -- was willing to admit.

Will Reese find more than she bargains for when she seeks out the truth about Evan’s past? Or will her instincts only wrap her deeper into the Secrets Within

When did you start writing? How long did it take you to get published?
I wrote my first novel back in 2001 and was published in 2003.

Do your fans' comments and letters influence you in any way?
Absolutely! The fans are who make everything I do possible and fulfilling. I take everything my fans say to heart.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
I learned, very fast, that I can't control my characters. They do what they want, when they want LOL!

Congratulations! You just won a year off from work to travel anywhere in the world and write the story of your dreams. Where do you go, what type of book do you write, and what’s the title?
Don't call me a sap, but my all-time favorite movie is "Dirty Dancing," the original, and I've always wanted to visit one of the locations where it was filmed. Actually, my husband is taking me there next summer. Okay, so here I am, in Lake Lure, North Carolina, nestled in a rustic cabin on the lake, my laptop open, typing the first word to my latest romantic-suspense "Echoes in the Moonlight."

Can you give us a peek at your work in progress, Tropical Illusions?
Sure! Here you go...
Felicia Mathews is miles away from home, on a sandy beach, on the most beautiful tropical island where she must trust no one, not even the very sexy Nash Brewer. Little does she know, her dream vacation, the man making all those dreams come true, are nothing more than an illusion.

What’s the most interesting obscure fact you know?
That's a tough one...In this world, sad to say, there are too many LOL!

What can your fans look forward to in the next twelve months from you?
Secrets Within will be available in print at Borders Book Stores on December 19th and I hope to have my other romantic suspense "Undying Passions" sold within that timeframe, too!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just want to tell aspiring authors to shoot for the stars and never give up on their dreams!
