Hi
Aline and thank you for speaking with us today. Why not grab a cup of coffee and tell the readers something about
Aline de Chevigny.
I'd prefer a hot chocolate if you don't mind LOL. I don't drink coffee. **grin**
Well let's see, I'm a Chemical Engineering Technologist working at Ontario's first Diamond Mine as an Environmental Technician.
My family is huge, I have 4 nephews and 1 niece that I spoil rotten. 16 Uncles and 8 Aunts that I try to torment on a regular basis, this is more difficult now that I work so far up north.
My cousins are too numerous to count LOL and most of them have 2 to 3 children of their own so in total our tribe is about 250 large. They're all very supporting of my writing which is a very nice feeling.
I love the cover on your webpage. You have quite a few books out that sound fascinating and the covers are very nice. I notice
The Perfect Hero is a best seller.
Thanks, a very talented artist named Ty Brazell of Artistic Touch Design created it and was kind enough to let me use her design. I love it.
Yes it was, I was giddy with happiness when I saw that.
Aline why not tell us how your day is once you wake and get motivated?
LOL now there's a loaded question. My day all depends on whether I'm at the mine site or not. I work a 2 week in and 2 week out rotation)
At the Mine site, I wake up at 5am, shower, dress and head out to breakfast. By 7am I'm in the lab and ready for work which is where I stay (With occasional field sampling) till 7pm. We work 12 hour shifts. When I get back to my room (Usually around 8pm) I boot up my laptop and try to get some work done till 9 or 10. Then off to bed to repeat my day. This happens every day for 2 weeks.
At home, I sleep the first 2 days back LMAO. Then I work on my books, website, promotions, etc… until 2 or 3 am. Go to bed and sleep in till 10 am, go shopping, pay bills, visit family and friends and back to my computer till 2-3am for more writing. This gets repeated every day for 2 weeks.
Basically I have a very boring life LOL.
Would you like to tell us about your latest release?
My Last release was Merry Christmas to Me with Forbidden Publications. It's a short story about a woman who works in an isolated area….(Uhm no it's not me LOL) who just quit her job and runs into (Literally) the man of her dreams.
Merry Christmas to Me - Contemporary Romance
Blurb: Jennifer was having the worst Christmas ever. She'd just quit her job, her ex had happily married some blonde Barbie doll and the man of her dreams didn't even know she was alive.
Franko was through with women, or so he thought until the hottest little spitfire he'd ever met walked into him and set him straight. He now had five days until she left the mine for good to convince her that he was the Christmas gift of her dreams.

Excerpt: She'd never felt so angry. How could they disappoint so many people, without even a second thought? They'd used some lame ass excuse, about the flight crew wishing to spend the holidays with their families. Well Duh! Who didn't? Unfortunately for her and everyone else in her boat, they couldn't leave site if the plane didn't show. "Damn, stupid, inconsiderate…"
Her tirade was cut short by what felt like walking into a brick wall. Looking up…and up, she came face to…chest with the new hotty mechanic at camp. She knew it was Franko Chissolm, she recognized the shirt.
Taking the step back, she tilted her head further back to look at him in the face to apologize. Her mouth dried up at the sight of him. He was even more impressive to look at up close. His scar, that everyone was talking about, made him look distinguished and dangerous. She always did like dangerous. "Uhm…I…ahhh… damn…sorry about that." His eyes narrowed quickly at her in anger, she didn't understand.
"Listen lady, I may not be much to look at anymore, but you can stop staring at my scars right this second!"
Jennifer took another step back in surprise and frowned. Her bad mood had just gotten worse thanks to his obvious rudeness. "Listen, I already apologized for walking into you, and might I remind you I'm the one who got hurt here! You're built like a freaking brick wall, where I…let's just say I'm not. As for you're scars, honey I have no idea who you've been listening to, but you are a serious babe and you'd better get used to tongue tied idiots like me acting like dolts around you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go before I stick my foot any further into my mouth."
Brushing past him, she fought to control the blushes she felt heating her cheeks. She really needed to learn to control her mouth when annoyed. Although, the look on his face when she called him a babe, was worth some embarrassment.
Reaching the door to her dorm residence, she couldn't resist one last look back to see if he was still watching her.
Do you have any special rituals to help you get in the mood to write? Listening to music, watching television or lighting candles?
Heck no, I write every chance I get. I don't have a lot of free time while at the Mine so I never know when inspiration will strike. I always keep pen and paper by my side. I even have a note pad and pen in my jacket pocket LOL
What part of the book do you prefer best, the beginning, middle or end, when composing?
The beginning, maybe that's why I have so many started LOL
Do you have any bad writing habits?
I tend to write my first draft as pure dialogue LOL. It drives my critique partners mad.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what things could you not survive without?
Never emptying Pen and unlimited supply of Paper. My DVD collection and my family. Every author needs some form of inspiration and my family provides me with that in spades LOL
What kind of books would we find on your bookshelf?
LOL everything you can imagine. From textbooks to research books, thrillers, romances, classics…
Is there anything you do to relax when you are not writing?
LOL Sleep.
What makes a great book to you?
A great book to me is something that keeps me glued to the pages.
Where would you like to see yourself in three years?
I'd love to see one of my full length Historical's published by HQN or AVON or Zebra LOL
Do you have any indulgent behaviors one might find surprising?
I like to have things very organized LOL.
If you could be any animal which would you be?
A pampered house cat, they have it made. Sleeping all day, getting attention when they want it and ignoring you when they want to be left alone.
For Fun: What's your favorite flavor ice cream? Your favorite comfort food?
My favorite Ice cream is strawberry, and my favorite comfort food is Shepherd's pie.
