Sense of a Woman is a place for women’s dreams. Mason Cole has made it his life’s work to ensure that all women that come to his salon are pampered and respected. He has one hard and fast rule though, never mix business with pleasure. Until now he has never taken issue with his self-imposed rule, but there is something about Valerie Randall that has always been different. Valerie and Mason have a unique friendship; he has ignored the lure of her sensuality because she is married, but when her husband leaves her and she comes in to the salon for a pick me up, all bets are off.

Sense of a Woman is a story that is surprisingly rich with emotion. Here is a beautiful woman that seemingly has it all, but appearances are not always what they seem. This short novella brings to life a woman that must face two life altering changes. As Valerie confronts the truth about her husband’s betrayal, readers bear witness to the pain, confusion and eventually the anger she experiences. This myriad of emotion is well told without detracting from the hope and passion that is growing between her and Mason.

Mason is a wonderful male character. He displays an innate respect and understanding of women that is refreshing. His determination to show Valerie how much of a woman her husband lost is both touching and sensual. This reader truly enjoyed seeing Valerie discover herself again. Rhiannon Neeley has crafted a quick read that delivers a believable romantic scenario that shows what can happen when two friends take a risk on something more.
