She Moves Through the Faire is an exceptional blend of suspense and romance, with Ms. Maynard adding touches of humor and poignant moments that make this story come alive. As a fan of romantic suspense, I appreciate that the author has taken the time to develop both the romantic and suspense elements of the story. The eloquent writing style easily allows readers to visualize the characters and setting while at the same time ensuring readers will experience the range of emotions presented. From start to finish the actions and reactions of the characters are consistent and believable. Rebecca is a wonderful character. The accounts of her terror are honest; their stark portrayal makes them that much more realistic. The battle she fights within herself demonstrates her courage and the overwhelming fear that consumes her life. Ms. Maynard has done a wonderful job crafting a heroine that is so believably drawn. Jace is a memorable hero. I appreciate how th! e author enables such a strong man to still take the time to let Rebecca trust him and to make decisions for herself. Even though he is capable, he does not come in and take over her life. He helps her try to regain her life. The supporting characters show a depth of development that is surprising given how sparingly they are seen in the story. Using the characters’ emotions and thoughts, the author has fostered a feeling of trepidation from the very beginning and the sense of the impending threat to Rebecca builds with each page. Ms. Maynard’s ability to balance this tension and still create a plausible, enjoyable romance is a credit to the author’s style. At no time does she let the tension falter as she sets the scene for the final confrontation. She Moves Through the Faire is a story readers won’t want to miss out on and this reader hopes that perhaps Ms. Maynard will have other stories to offer about the men from Global Solutions.
