The year is 1865 in the Arizona Territory.

Lilly Manchester’s erotic dreams involving Slade McCord are keeping her hot for him during the daytime also. Slade is a drifter who was hired at the Manchester ranch a month ago.

Slade is sent by Lilly’s father to find her during a storm and due to the creeks rising so fast, they seek shelter in a nearby cabin for the night. The surroundings of the cabin are small so Slade lets Lilly know she does not have to be afraid of him. Lilly tells him that she is only afraid he doesn’t want her as much as she wants him. Oh Slade wants Lilly all right, but he believes he cannot get involved with her because there is no place for her in his life because of the uncertainty and danger around him.

The Diary of Lillian Manchester Book 1: The Stranger is a wonderful story of a lonely man that finds a woman that so intrigues him that he cannot turn away from her no matter what he does. Slades way of life includes a lot traveling and it is too dangerous to involve Lilly in. Lilly is determined that no matter what happens she will be in Slade’s life and help him battle the fears from his past. Adrianna Dane really knows how to bring her characters to life.
