Harnessed Angels: The Quickening

Sara Xavier is a senior at Ryesgate University and is waiting for her acceptance into the Ryesgate Ancient Studies Program, for her graduate studies. She receives the letter that she is expecting, and receives the acceptance that she wishes. However, there is more to her acceptance than meets the eye.

Sara and Patrick, a fellow student, are being drawn into the atmosphere of The League of the Nine Houses, each through their separate graduate studies programs. The League is searching for ancient relics that tell of their origins, and are using Sara and Patrick to find and acquire them.

Colm O’Tethra is a graduate student at Ryesgate University, and the interviewer for the Ancient Studies Program. But is this his only role in the game that is soon to be played?

Sara is physically and sexually drawn to Mathias Hurukan, also a graduate student at Ryesgate University, with dark eyes and hair. It’s almost a mystical attraction. Could Sara and Mathias be ancient lovers? Having waited millennia for Sara, is The League’s intrigue going to tear Mathias and Sara apart?

Ann Vremont does it again! She caught my attention from the very first and held it to the very last. Ann Vremont keeps you guessing about her characters, but she writes from the heart and engages the imagination. I enjoyed this story very much and I never wanted it to end. However, the story doesn’t end, it leaves you hanging, waiting for the next installment. It makes you yearn to know what happens to Sara and Mathias and where we will meet them next on their journey. I gave Harnessed Angels: The Quickening 4 Angels and I can’t wait to see what Ann Vremont has in store for us next.
