Midnight Mistress

Brandi Heartt is the Midnight Mistress of late night radio in Savannah, Georgia. She swore she’d never go back there, but after the trouble she had with her ex-boss Barry Schorr, in L.A., she took them up on their offer. As things spiral out of control for Brandi, she finds that one man who can make her feel like a woman, Coy the janitor at the radio station. However, before she can move forward, Brandi has to face the ghost of her Uncle Ralph and what happened to her when she was fourteen. Brandi doesn’t know if she can stop from losing Coy before she can get her life straightened out, but she hopes she can.

Coy knows that everyone thinks he’s simple; he’s cultivated that persona since he started at the station. He’s fallen for Brandi and isn’t sure she will be able to deal with his past or even understand why he had to do what he did. Every time he tries to get close to her, she closes down and he doesn’t know how much more he can take. Can he help her get over her past and show her that by loving him she can be whole again?

Ms. Godwin has given the readers a tough talking, self-sufficient character in Brandi Heartt and shows us why Brandi is this way. Your heart goes out to this character and you want her to find the peace and love she deserves. The scenes are well thought out and described to give the readers the feeling that they are watching a good Alfred Hitchcock thriller.
