Redemption

Although she has been born such a creature, Lilith doesn’t have the heart for evil. She is tired of her family forcing her to hurt others and take souls. On her latest mission, rather than steal the baby she’s been told to, Lilith brands the child with a protective medallion ensuring that her mother could never cause the baby harm. In return for her bravery and innate goodness, the gods grant Lilith a new life as a nurse named Lily, and although Lilith still has her powers, she now exclusively uses them for good.

Adamm is a notorious witch gang leader on the verge of death. Adamm has spent years pushing away people who loved him and killing without mercy. His ruthlessness and carelessness for life have known no bounds and as he lies bleeding to death from a gunshot wound, he is given a second chance to make things right. When he is offered the chance at living a totally different way, he knows that this will be the only way for him to repay his evil deeds.

Both with new lives, Lilith and Adamm find their paths crossing. They recognize a certain familiarity with each other and together they realize they will need to combine their strengths to help a boy from facing their past lives’ mistakes. Can they convince a young, rebellious teen that living life dangerously isn’t as fun as it seems?

Redemption is another great story from Ms. Walker that showcases her great imagination and art of storytelling. Ms. Walker has a great knack for taking evil heroes and turning them into someone we love. I enjoyed the complex plot, moving from the histories of the main characters and learning how their lives eventually intertwined. I also liked how the story included elements of another world and magic without seeming too over the top. Redemption a contemporary sort of story that is relatable for those who have always wanted another shot at life.
