Racing Hearts

In a bid to regain their market share, Lovely Cosmetics is embarking on a major advertising campaign and one of their key initiatives is to find and sponsor the first female NASCAR driver. Cassandra Jamison is a speed demon; racing is her passion. She is an exceptionally talented, intelligent, fast and daring driver. When she’s approached by Lovely Cosmetics she thinks they want her to model for them; her anger quickly turns to shock when she finds out they want to sponsor her and are offering the chance to drive their team’s NASCAR. This is a “dream come true” moment for Cass.

Lovely Cosmetics has persuaded Justin “Kid” Steed to train Cass. He was the darling of the NASCAR circuit, until a near fatal accident ended his career. Now he owns and runs a horse ranch. As much as he wants to stay away from the painful memories the world of NASCAR holds for him, he just can’t refuse the amount of money he’s being offered; money that will keep his ranch afloat.

Both Cass and Justin are strong, intense people and sparks fly when this dynamic pair meets. Each is determined they’re right, but each also needs the other in order for the team to be successful. Can they find a way to compromise, to work together, to survive the challenges of motor sport and to make Cass’s dream come true?

Rae Monet has masterfully captured the suspense and excitement of motor sport. Racing Hearts is a gripping story, with depth, which combines a fabulous romance with detailed insight into the electrifying and often breathtaking world of NASCAR. Whilst the backdrop of the tale is the NASCAR world, this angle does not overwhelm the story, and as a result it will appeal even to those who do not consider themselves a motor sport fan.
