Warrior Women: Rite of Passion

Shana of Themis would definitely rather be out fighting than trying to get pregnant. As an Amazonian warrior of Cherron, she much preferred the adventure and danger to motherhood duty. However, each Amazon was duty-bound to attempt to reproduce in order to perpetuate their race. According to Amazon law, she had to try 20 times before it would be accepted that she was barren. So far, she’d managed to avoid the dreaded fate. Male prisoner 564 was the nineteenth try.

These male prisoners that the Amazons used to father their children were captured from starships lured to Cherron by false distress signals. Shana was somewhat disturbed that once a prisoner succeeded in impregnating an Amazon, he was often killed to prevent the warrior from forming an attachment to the father of her child. However, that was the way of things. Shana would pretend to couple with this prisoner to make it seem as if she was trying and leave just as soon as possible. She doesn’t really want anything to do with a man outside of this room. That is, until 564 came into her life...

This short story (48 pages) was quite entertaining and I liked it. The general plot falls into the “Amazons treating men like dogs” category, but there were several twists in the action that made the plot more interesting. The author’s writing was smooth and well-paced, thus keeping the reader’s interest high. The two primary characters are Shana and Prisoner 564 (James). I thought James was more realistically drawn, but Shana kind of grew on me, too! The story is very explicitly erotic and very graphic, with sex scenes covering almost every page. The scenes include not only face-to-face male/female sex, but also oral, anal, and some very light bondage. Those who like futuristic erotica will enjoy this story.
