Highland Princess
Lady Mairi Macdonald is used to having her way. In a time when most women spent their time sewing or serving men, Mairi’s father, Lord of the Isles, allowed her to be knowledgeable in the ways of politics with her people. Upon hearing one of her servants is being placed on trial for murder, Lady Mairi rushes home to speak on behalf of him to her father. She will prove his innocence, and this will only increase her curiosity as to who really did murder Elma MacCoun. She will soon learn she is not the only one interested in the murder.
Lachlan Maclean, otherwise know as Lachlan “The Wily,” could not believe the beautiful woman who entered the courtroom of the Lord of the Isles. Although, he should have known it was the Lord’s daughter. Her beauty was legendary, and she had just added a bonus to Lachlan’s plan. He wanted her and he would go to all lengths to make sure it was his hand she took in marriage regardless, of who she was promised to or who else might desire her for his own. His attentiveness to Lady Mairi will incite an evil plot of murder and destruction by one of his enemies, and Lachlan must figure out a way to win her heart and save his life.
Amanda Scott has written a delightful tale of mystery and suspense. It is enjoyable to read this story and try and figure out the mystery of the opening murder for yourself. Mrs. Scott knows how to grab the readers attention from the first page and she does not let you go until the very last page. Lady Mairi is truly a heroine to enjoy. She will win the readers’ hearts from the very beginning. Not one to cower to a man, she will stand up for what she feels is right and honorable. Lachlan and his brother Hector are also a pair of heroes to devour. This reviewer cannot wait to read more about Hector in Lord of the Isles.
Fans of medieval romance will not want to miss out on this newest book, Highland Princess from Amanda Scott!
