Book 5 of the Operation Pleiades series:
Blast Wave is the story of Electra, one of seven little girls from Earth abducted by an alien race and returned genetically implanted with a trigger the aliens plan to use to conquer Earth.

In the future 2023, Electra is the leader of a group of mercenaries of sorts known as Medusa's Hand. She is a woman with hidden talents given to her by the aliens who abducted her as a child, a painful experience that she remembers every time she sleeps. These talents enable her to shape shift at will, as well as interface with any type of machinery. Electra is captured and tortured by Darius Cain, who intends to take over Medusa's Hand for purely evil purposes, only to have the alien nanocytes in her body fight to restore her, thus prolonging the pain and suffering. Praying for death takes a close second to her prayers for rescue... Prayers for her Midas to come and save her.

Midas is a Mythos operative, deep undercover in Medusa's Hand, and growing even deeper due to his escalating feelings for his boss Electra. Like the other Mythos men Midas, aka Odin Rothwell, fights the spreading alien threat and government corruption with a combination of stealth, combat training and a little something extra. Midas is an empath able to track emotions, draw on them and even use them as weapons. Now Electra, 'his Electra,' is in danger and he will make it his mission to save her at any cost...even if that cost is his own life. But even rescue does not end the danger, for evil lurks within Medusa's Hand and it has an agenda which includes a threat the world may not survive.

Yet another 5 angel rating in this series - I cannot say enough about this series. Each story is a continuance of the one that preceded it and yet each story is strong and powerful in its own right. Electra the heroine of this tale is superb. She is a leader, strong, powerful and very self-confident. As far as her alien enhanced abilities... they rock! Imagine being able to change your skin color, eye or hair color at will and having a computer for a brain... too cool huh? Not too mention the whole heal yourself thing which could save a fortune in doctor visits alone! Then we have Midas who is also called the iceman for his coolness under pressure. He may be cool in business but he definitely fans the flames in the love department! The sex scenes sizzle! Tall and strong and handsome as can be, willing to risk life and limb for the one he loves... perfect hero material. Full of twists and intrigue, non-stop action and surprises, this book is one of the best of the series and in this series that means excellence!
