The Mandorla Medallion
Trying to recover from the loss of her lover, Posh Warren throws herself into her work investigating the unexplained for Enigma magazine. A trip to research the bog people found in Northern England seems the perfect assignment to get her back on track, even if the sexy photographer assigned to her proves to be a thorn in her side. Little does she know the very ones responsible for her lover’s death two years prior are interested in her latest assignment as well. Before she knows what hit her she and Nemesis are thrown together as danger arrives and sends them running for their lives.
Nemesis Danos has a self appointed mission to bring down The Sutratma Society and its leader Conroy Mallory, a group who seem hell bent on obtaining all powerful occult artifacts ever discovered for themselves. Posing in this job as a photographer is just a means to thwart yet another of Sutratma's acquisitions, this one known as the Mandorla Medallion. A problem ? Not for this sexy Cajun. The only problem on this trip seems to be the gorgeous woman he is there to work with. She has constructed a wall of ice around herself that Nemesis finds impossible to resist throwing a little heat at. In fact the more he is near her the more he wants to break through that wall to the passionate woman he glimpses inside. Circumstances are not going to make it easy for him however, because the bad guys have arrived and to get what they desire, they will stop at nothing...even murder.
A damaged woman trying bravely to rebuild her life and her confidence, a to-die-for hero willing to fight for what is right, a bad guy with no conscience, and a mysterious necklace with mystical powers equal one fantastic read. There is just the right amount of suspense to keep your interest, just enough mystery to keep you guessing and more than enough heat to keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters of Posh and Nemesis are a pleasure to get to know and watching them get to know each other... magical.
Nemesis' involvement with another character is probably the only thing that prevents my giving this tale a 5 rating instead of a 4. I found it to be uncomfortable for me at times as it seemed to be to Posh in the story. That point aside, I would have to say this was a fabulous tale and what I hope will be the launch of a series of stories of those who travel the world and will do what they must to keep potential evil out of the hands of Sutratma.
