<i>Walking Through Fire</i>

Riana does not care much for the rules and regulations she is forced to abide by in the afterlife. Life on Earth is so much more interesting to her... so much more real. Even when threatened with dire consequences, unless she can conform to the rules, Riana cannot seem to stop her earthly visits. Then a visit puts her in the path of Caleb Montgomery and an immediate connection is felt. One which will become so important to Riana that any risk she must take will become more than worth taking.

Caleb is not even sure why his journey to find out his destiny has led him to the wilderness of Romania; he just knows it feels right. He burns with the need to know why he is what he is... immortal. The last thing he expects on this journey is to find a sexy woman who makes his heart beat faster... make him feel more alive. Problem is, she isn't alive anymore and that alone may be enough to forever keep them apart.

This story is another one of those books I picked up with no idea about what the plotline would be or even what genre it was. I expected a tale that would be a pleasure to read...simply due to the fact I have read many books by R. Carrington and have never been disappointed. Once again she delivered! This story had strong characters with lots of fire and life to them... even the ones who no longer were alive!

The most pleasant surprise for me came when shortly after beginning this tale I realized that although it is a stand alone title, the female lead character and her grandfather were in fact characters I had been introduced to before. Riana is the sister who was being searched for in the Vampire tale by Rachel Carrington named Feel the Heat. As for this story, it was an interesting view of life in the afterlife, definitely not one you might expect. Caleb, although tormented by questions about his purpose in life, is strong and determined ...definitely hero material. Riana is strong as well and full of life, even after death. The feistiness of Riana carries over well into the love scenes, making for some hot and spicy moments definitely worth checking out. Throw in some danger, a bad guy with a secret agenda, and some 'help' from the powers that be and you get a keeper of a read you won't soon forget.
