I enjoyed this book, even though is a big departure from my usual preferred style. It reminded me of the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, with their look at the fuzzy underbelly of the wereworld, along with the flashes of humor you wouldn’t expect from works this dark. We get to look in on Mason taking Lan home to meet his parents - a religious couple, and their surprising reaction.
