Another Place

Susan Riley is struggling to find her faith in human nature once again after being burnt in the romance department by a man claiming to be a Christian and then demanding more than she was willing to give. Now, Susan is unemployed and looking for a job where jobs are hard to come by. She soon takes a job as a clerk in a convenience store.

Bill Foster has moved to the little town of Sutter, Oklahoma to start fresh. Not as fresh as he would like as he is plagued with hospital and medical bills from when he lost his wife to cancer. Taking the job as manager of the little town's convenience store is a saving grace for him. He feels an instant connection with the lovely young woman who comes in for an interview for the job of clerk. He can see the same desire for friendship and hope in her eyes that he knows is reflected in his own. Can he earn her trust? It has to start with bringing them both to trust in the Lord.

Ms. Holloway is a gifted writter who has penned a delightful story in Another Place of two rich and well rounded characters. Susan is a woman on her own, fighting demons of the past. She has lost her family, her job and her faith. The last thing she was looking for was to find all three in her new boss. Bill is fighting demons of his own but sees in Susan another Christian who has lost her way. He sets out to help her in any way he can while gaining her trust. This reviewer fell in love with both of these characters. The cast of secondary characters are colorful and equally well written and totally believable. However, there are times when the story lags and doesn't flow smoothly. This doesn't detract much from a story that is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon reading. Sheila Holloway has a winner with her first published work, Another Place. This is a highly recommended book for all inspirational romance lovers. Don't miss out on this one!
