Selena Gibson is a twenty-four year old virgin with a problem. She really wants to lose her virginity. During a Girls Night Out with two friends from work, she loses a special bracelet that her father gave to her. When she returns the next day to pick it up, she meets Laramie Franklin, a man very willing to help her lose her virginity as he can’t help but stare lustfully at Selena’s gaping blouse. Laramie is a mechanic of sorts for Gator’s Carnival and he offers to sew up Selena’s blouse before she heads back to work in exchange for a kiss. Of course, one kiss leads to so much more. Selena agrees to meet him later that same day for another adventure at Gator’s, only this time, the adventure is going to involve far more than rides and concession stands. Laramie is going to teach Selena the art of lovemaking and Selena can’t wait.

Carney Knowledge is a quick, but entertaining read that tells the tale of a buttoned down businesswoman finally letting her hair loose. Though the pages are short, author Shelby Stone nevertheless manages to involve the reader in the life of Selena, a woman who finally has a chance to experience not only sex but perhaps more, possibly even love. I admit I was a little shocked at how quickly Selena and Laramie became sexually involved, but Shelby Stone provided ample evidence of the growing feelings between them, so it wasn’t too off putting. These two characters seem like total opposites, the businesswoman and the carnival worker, but they both come to find out that they have a lot more in common than they would have ever imagined. This is a fun read that may just put you in the mood to visit a carnival.
