Fantasies R Us

Librarian Jayne Applegate is ready and willing to lose her virginity. Too bad there are no candidates in sight. At almost thirty, she sees herself as the quintessential “Plain Jane.” The only thing extraordinary about her is the Y in her name. So she goes to Fantasies R Us where hopefully, her romantic fantasy of a charming man who wants her and only her will finally come true. After some troubles to begin with, Jayne finally gets paired with Michael, who is to star as Prince Charming in her Cinderella fantasy. Though he’s only a cyborg, she can’t help developing feelings for him during her fantasy. She doesn’t want her stay to end, but she can’t afford to extend it, so soon she’s going to have to say good-bye to Michael. Can there be a happy ending for this couple or is Michael destined to go on to pleasure another woman while Jayne pines for him the rest of her life?

Fantasies R Us is a very creative look at sex made to order. Roxi Romano’s world of fantasies on demand was very detailed and intriguing. Perhaps in a not so distant future, something similar might just be created. Until then, reading about Jayne’s escapades with fairy tale characters such as some dwarfs and Robin Hood himself make for a merry and comedic story. You might not ever look at these characters in quite the same light when you read about their various exploits in Jayne’s fantasy.

I was very puzzled as to how the protagonist was going to get a happy ending, but rest assured, Roxi Romano doesn’t disappoint. Michael proves to have quite the mystery surrounding him. I especially liked how Michael would try again and again to show Jayne that her worth shouldn’t be measured by her looks, though as he assured her, she was very beautiful. He helped her see herself in a better light, something which makes him a real winner in my book. If you like your romance enhanced with not only bits and pieces of comedy, a futuristic setting, and plenty of sexual adventures, Fantasies R Us is the perfect story to read. It won’t let you down!
