The Mirror

Eve has just received divorce papers from her scum of an ex-husband and needs a little girl time. Eve and her friend Mitzi make plans to go out, but when she opens the door to her ‘friend’ it’s not Mitzi at the door. Enter Drake Fallon, a wildly sexy man who’s unfortunately looking for the woman downstairs. When Drake ends up in her bed and the woman downstairs ends up dead, Eve doesn’t know if she should trust him. On top of everything else, he’s a vampire with an enemy who is sworn to destroy Eve. What is a girl to do? Fall for him, of course.

This was a good story with a lot of fun sex scenes. Drake was a great alpha male who loved to strut his stuff. I loved the line ‘Perhaps if you’d gone to school longer, you could set your own hours too.’ Eve and he have a tumultuous relationship that really is made harder when she has to come to grips with the fact that her lover is a vampire. I hope that there will be more stories involving the pure-blood vampires. It is an interesting premise that isn’t dealt with that often. I did feel that the story was a bit rushed. I would love to see this as a series so it can be fleshed out a bit.
