Portrait of His Obsession

Syrian is the subject of a painting her brother is creating. He is not only her brother but her guardian. Thomas, Viscount Caldwell loves to paint but his subject is getting restless. Lord Harrison, Earl of Wrotham finds himself attracted to Syrian. She has remained in his memory since he laid eyes on her a year earlier. She is nothing like his normal women as she comes off as prudish. However he has seen another side to her and she has become his quest.

Syrian plays the role society requires of her. She is circumspect, prim and always a lady. There is another side of her that yearns to be a little wild and crazy. Harrison is a rogue, a real ladies man but he has met his match in Syrian. He tried to erase her from his mind with other women but it failed miserably and he gave up trying. He is in love with her and wants to get to know the real woman. Harrison obtains the painting of her and the painting leads him to the real Syrian. Harrison is a tenacious man who is willing to make the extra effort to get to know her. The attraction between these two is palpable as Harrison slowly seduces Syrian. The reader gets inside the head of these two and is privy to their thoughts as their relationship progresses.

Portrait of His Obsession was an extremely entertaining story. The two leads are very likable and they pull the reader into their story. The author use of the painting was clever as it became an important “character”. It helped move the story forward and assisted the hero in his quest for his lady. This was a very fast read as this reader couldn’t wait to see what happened next!
