Chloe Leitman was still not over her dead fiancé Luke Delaney. Luke has been gone seven years and Chloe is now engaged. But Luke comes to her nightly in her dreams again and again. When Chloe is kidnapped by Anika, a woman obsessed with Luke, Luke returns to Chloe. Chloe is shocked to find out Luke is alive and that he is a vampire. She is reluctant to accept anything that Luke is telling her. How can he be a vampire? Vampires are not real. In order to protect Chloe from Anika, Luke hides Chloe. Anika finds Chloe and is determined that she, and not Chloe, is Luke’s lifemate.

Luke has longed for Chloe from the moment he was turned. He decided to spare Chloe and let her believe that he was dead. But Luke was never able to completely let Chloe go and comes to her nightly in her dreams, making love to her. When Anika, a fellow vampire, chooses him for her lifemate Luke rejects her, inciting her wrath. Luke knows he must do everything he can to protect Chloe. He will even turn her if he must.

Ashley Ladd’s Blessed Be is a story of undying love. Luke and Chloe’s love does not die after the death of Luke. Neither is able to let the other go. Ms. Ladd has a phenomenal writing style that showcases all the different emotions that Luke and Chloe go through. The story begins with a bang and does not let up until the end.
